My mother thinks I'm trying to poison my dcs I think

Surely as an occasional meal about 4 times a year it's not that bad?

Shades it's bread (has to be thick, white bread) dipped in beaten egg then fried both sides.
Tis Yummy.

BTW OP I'd substitute the bacon for vegetarian bacon and you've got a deal.
DD would demolish that with the beans. Grin

SisterMatic · 10/05/2013 20:47

Eggy bread!! I am going to make that tomorrow.

MooseBeTimeForSpring · 10/05/2013 20:51

Got any brown sauce?

AuntLucyInPeru · 10/05/2013 20:51

I never said this but .... Spoonful of sugar dissolved in the beaten egg. Died and gone to heaven.

cook 2 slices on 1 side, flip one, place on grated cheese onto the cooked side, put the other slice, cooked slice down onto the cheese, cook on both sides, cheesy dreams, magnificent!

No, no to savoury French toast! Sugar and lemon juice all the way Smile

TheSurgeonsMate · 10/05/2013 21:19

Yanbu, of course.

But I really came on to ask MrsK exactly how old she was when she worked out she could use two cups of tea to make biscuit dunking perfect. It's so, I don't know, grown up.

Giggle78 · 10/05/2013 21:23

YANBU
That's what we had tonight. I thought it was a good dinner.

TigOldBitties · 10/05/2013 21:27

Yanbu! We have that, without the bacon nearly every Monday night.

Sometimes I go rogue and do scrambled egg with fried bread.

SmellsLikeTeenStrop · 10/05/2013 22:03

I want some eggy bread now, but I have no eggs Sad

Wolfcub · 10/05/2013 22:04

I could eat that now

stealthsquiggle · 10/05/2013 22:08

We have eggs (thank you chooks) but no decent bread, stale or otherwise Sad

gordyslovesheep · 10/05/2013 22:09

idiot55 · 10/05/2013 22:16

tonight I went food shopping and bought eegs , thick white bread, bacon and sausages for tomorrows tea.

PoppyWearer · 10/05/2013 22:17

Yuuuuuum eggy bread!

If my DCs would eat it, it would be a staple of our tea time menu.

Grin TheSurgeons - Actually i discovered it at about 14yo after too many biscuit dropping disasters, and then realisation that, when you dunk 2 packs of hazelnut maryland cookies in your tea, there is no tea left to drink < Shock at thinking oh yummy now i'll drink my lovely tea and then the horror of realising the bastarding cookies have 'drunk' it all>.

LeaveTheBastid · 10/05/2013 23:43

Eggy bread, crispy bacon and maple syrup, there's tomorrows breakfast sorted!

TheSurgeonsMate · 11/05/2013 12:08

So wise at only 14, mrsk!

Dawndonna · 11/05/2013 12:14

Mmmm, eggy bread.
We do a sweet version for pudding sometimes, too.
Dip in egg, then dip in plate of mixed caster sugar/cinnamon, fry. Delicious!

SwishSwoshSwoosh · 11/05/2013 12:17

Bacon is grim any time but the rest sounds just fine.

LadyBeagleEyes · 11/05/2013 12:21

Yy to crispy bacon and maple syrup with a pinch of cinnamon.
The salt and the sweet is delicious together.
