I don't want to impose on Parents space, but a lot of my friends have said...."someone has just said on mumsnet something you said the other day" and "you need tto join mumsnet", "you'll love people who are mumsnet"

I wanted to join. I really like it andd I'm level headed.

Am I encrouching on you?

As you're American, Scone, shouldn't your name be something like BiscuitRhymesWithBrisket? Or have I been misinformed?

I quite like that people who aren't parenty types want to join...
Makes me feel slightly less like a boring mum-type.

Just so you all know, I LOVE this website. I think theres a lot to be said for a site which is fundamentally helpful to other people and constructive, I couldn't NOT be a part of it.

I love none parents! Lets me pretend I'm still a carefree 22 year whose only responsibilities are having money for a taxi home! When in reality I'm a mother of a threenager and I have no social life.

I have no children. I love this site, and have had wonderful support at times.

Welcome to the vipers nest Grin

loads of folk on here without kids. I have them and hardly darken the doors of the parenting topic anyway Grin

Haha thanks Clara, I'm not a twunk, I just wasn't sure about the policy about non parents because that is how this website advertises. I wanted to be apart of it because it is sometimes hilarious and sometimes SO helpful and nice, it should have it's own advert.

Nah, post away. I'm under no illusion that having squeezed a small person out of my vagina makes my opinion more interesting than anyone else's.

Good name choice BTW, I'm a big fan of raptors.
Maybe slightly sinister I suppose. HoveringVulture would be worse though...

Welcome Hovering Grin

There are lots of non parents here and anyway, how could MNHQ police it if it was against their policy?

I'd be tempted to dump my kids on MN Towers' doorstep Grin

That will be my next name. Smile

I am American but lived in Scotland for a while. Ever since scones became popular in the US several years ago, I have been on a one woman mission to get people in the US to pronounce the word correctly. Sadly, I am failing.

Oh, and welcome to mumsnet, OP. Flowers

kestrel I think mumsnet attracts all different kinds of people. My 21 year old daughter is also gay and doesn't have any children yet, she loves the wit on here and the politics threads.

It's ok. You are not the only gay childless guy. A friend of mine likes to lurk around the gardening boards Grin

Eventually Mnet drags everyone into the vortex.

Welcome Wine ..... You know you can never leave now, right?
