We ordered way too much last night and stupidly, I left it all out from 8 pm until I got up about 8 am. I'm sure the noodles are fine but the chicken....? My head says I'd BU to eat it but my heart stomach says IT'S FINE!

I don't understand the concept of "leftover" Chinese? What is this phenomenon you speak of? I've heard people talking about leftover wine as well but I think they've made it up.

Anything fast food wise lurking about in the house the morning after ,my fella burns almost black in the frying pan and eats ,always has done ,he explains the fierce heat will kill any germs and if not his digestive juices will finish the germs/bugs? off, works for him, thou i am not suggesting you do same!

BinksToEnlightenment · 21/04/2013 17:06

I would eat it.

MrsSpagBol · 21/04/2013 17:37

Lamaga it's nothing to do with rice not being a saple; it's because the Bacillus bacteria on rice cant be destroyed by heat.

MrsSpagBol I have broken all the rules here and never had food poisoning, I think some people have delicate stomachs and some don't.

The word there is 'can', so many things can cause this and that, I tend to ignore it and eat it

Urgh, don't risk it.

TheVDM · 24/04/2013 16:14

Chinese is always good for another couple of days, maybe I have a strong stomach... Domino's is always better the morning after!

digerd · 24/04/2013 16:35

Very spicy food - curry, chilli, provides its own preservative, but have heard that rice can be susceptible to salmonella.

I have eaten out of date food, but give it a sniff first, but always been in the fridge.

Some people do have cast iron stomachs and some are delicate.

CocacolaMum · 24/04/2013 16:38

I wouldn't eat any meat left out of a fridge overnight. Chinese or otherwise.

crashdoll · 24/04/2013 17:54

I have a fairly delicate something but the chinese was fine. I'm still alive, so far....

I would make sure it is thoroughly microwaved and eat it, but am in Scotland and at the moment the house temp overnight is pretty cool anyway.

Lora1982 · 24/04/2013 18:43

LadyMountbatten · 24/04/2013 18:46

It's nothing to do with "delicate stomachs". You've been lucky, that's all, same as if you don't put a seatbelt on before you drive your car, you won't always get into an accident. Doesn't mean you shouldn't take sensible precautions though - food poisoning is no joke.
