To lie in bed watching the spider on the ceiling getting closer and closer to husbands open wardrobe...

It might crawl in and hide amongst his shirts...which would be a shame, but I'm too tired to get up. The reason I'm too tired to get up is because I'm getting sleepless nights due to 20 week old DS, and last night, as well as every other night DH is just "too tired to get up " and try to help him get back to sleep...

Ha, Jeremy! My childhood dog used to squash spiders against the wall with his muzzle and zup them up. You'd often see legs festooned across his nose.....

jinsymaw · 05/04/2013 23:39

Exactly, that's what I'm talking about! Dear heavens where are my sleep ease night pills. Sleep will come no more! Aaaaaaah hairy arachnid bottom dewellers.

Ullena · 05/04/2013 23:40

There are currently nine different species of tarantula in our guest bedroom...oh, and a DSIL Grin I have become fond of them provided the tanks are closed but am still wary of other spiders. Especially the huge one under the sink...

Lucyellensmum95 · 05/04/2013 23:46

Hohoho - sorry, i live in the UK and they are becoming more and more common :) They bite too!

SquirrelNuts · 05/04/2013 23:50

Do you go in his wardrobe? If not id let it go in there, will teach him for leaving the door open, I would shut the door when its in there though!

Lucyellensmum95 · 05/04/2013 23:52

minouminou - those spiders really are beautiful!! Im with your DD on that!

AgentZigzag · 05/04/2013 23:54

I have cream bedding in a cream bedroom (in a cream house if the truth be known Grin) and our lack of decorating imagination is great for seeing the fuckers trying to creep up on you.

And tomato stems may as well be spiders for the way they make you feel, even picking them up to put them in the bin

Loulybelle · 05/04/2013 23:59

Actually, i saw i heard a spider squeak once, in bed lights off, heard a noise, light on, big spider on ceiling.

totally sleeping with a heavy object close by and knickers firmly on.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 06/04/2013 00:04

Oooh, sometimes I wake up and my throat feels all jaggy like woodchip wallpaper.
Does this mean I've swallowed a spider?

I'm a vegetaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarian For Jeffs Sake Sad

AgentZigzag · 06/04/2013 00:05

That wasn't a squeak Louly, the spider was threatening that if you didn't tell him where his cousin Jason had gone (y'know, the one you rinsed down the drain and who lives in the garage now), he was going to get all his mates round with their little tiny spider baseball bats to knee cap you Shock

Well known tactic.

Loulybelle · 06/04/2013 00:07

Haha, ZigZag, that little fucker werent squealing on no one, splat!!!!!

elQuintoConyo · 06/04/2013 00:07

Aged 9 we moved house, into one that hadn't been occupied in about 5 years. I woke up the first morning to 'hair' tickling my face, opened my eyes and a big hairy motherfucker was sitting over my right eye.
I've never moved so fast.
That house was FULL of them as they'd been breeding freely for so long without being culled.
Now I live in a country with cockroaches - nasty slimey things that make me jump, but I don't have 'The Fear' about them.

Fwiw I close my mouth when I see a spider, but don't cross my legs. Jumpy buggers.

Loulybelle · 06/04/2013 00:10

I cant watch that scene in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, ewwww ewwwww ewwwww, so many big evil bastards, that were gonna eat Harry.

DH is a big softy who teaches. A couple of years ago in a Yr 10 class, one of the boys leant over to the girl next to him and said, "Shit, Sal! A spider just went down your blouse!". So Sal instantly stripped to the waist and ran around the room screaming. The fearsome female Deputy Head then came in to see what the commotion was all about.

DH is now known to staff & stidents as "Spider Man". Grin
