For it is a vile, hate-preaching, lie-spreading rag, and every click helps them carry on being a vile, hate-preaching, lie-spreading rag.

Even if it's a click simply to see the latest example of disgusting and wrong they are, or the latest nonsense from the latest vacuous columnist - please do not be part of their massive online audience.

This is something we can all do. Yes, perhaps a wee sacrifice, to forego that glow of righteous anger - but we can see what they are saying without ever needing to click on their fucking website.

If you don't think IABU, please join me. Thank you.

I will never again link to or open a link to the Daily Mail.

Quite funny really - all this because of a controlling man i.e Philpot now some MN want to control what we can or cannot link to !

ReturnOfEmeraldGreen · 04/04/2013 21:33

No, TheChimpParadox, do what you like. However if you don't like the DM and its politics and if you think that exploiting the deaths of innocent small children to pursue an anti-welfare state ideological agenda is fucking vile, don't read it and don't click on links that will increase its traffic. If you think that's ok, carry on. It's a free country, no thanks to the efforts of Rothermere and his Blackshirt-loving paper. Simple.

TheChimpParadox · 04/04/2013 21:38

It s fine not to open a link but don't ask people not to link - alot of MN on here will not open a link if shown that it is a DM - but by making an issue of it on a thread more MN will be intrigued and go to DM .

Do you really think that asking MN to stop linking to DM has an impact of their on line views - millions and millions of them !

I had the same thought as TheChimpParadox re Mick Philpott's desire to control women and everything they did. Instead of allowing them freedom to function as independent adult humans.

I think you are pitching your arguments wrong to make it all about hate and emotion. By all means make the political case and let women decide for themselves.

And no threats of shitlists if people don't comply.

ReturnOfEmeraldGreen · 04/04/2013 23:18

Hate and emotion is the DM's stock in trade, but you are right that one should try to stay above that level. 'Never wrestle with a chimney sweep' as a sage colleague of mine likes to say. Or maybe 'L'enfer, c'est les autres' as Sartre so elegantly put it.

I don't recall anyone threatening to put anyone else on any sort of indecorous list, btw. Confused
