to think he shouldn't park his van there

OK so we live on quite an exclusive estate and have a visitor parking area. One of our neighbours who I think is a tradesman insists on parking his huge van in the visitor parking. It really annoys me as he has his own drive and won't use it prob because he parks his caravan there and there isn't any room.

Last week my nanny who usually parks on the visitor parking couldn't park and so had to park on the road.

DH has spoken to him and has got short shrift, but it is in our deeds that he shouldn't park there. Not to mention how untidy the estate looks with a huge horrid van parked in the middle. not to mention the caravan.

I think I may have to speak to the association rep, but AIBU? I don't want to cause trouble as it is a nice estate, but really!

this would have pissed me off to op, typically MN posters will flame you but i share the fact that it is annoying when a neighbour has a huge fuck off van but insist in dumping it oustside your home instead of theirs as they don't like looking out at the fucker but i have to instead

MrsBucketxx · 27/03/2013 09:06

its in our deeds not to have vans and they are everywhere on our development, even after lots of complaining by me nowt was done.

seems some will always stick two fingers up yo the rules whatever happens.

Eskino · 27/03/2013 09:15

charle, are you using the little microphone on ipad?

Tip: you have to actually say, "Comma", or "Full-stop" .

PickleSarnie · 27/03/2013 09:25

I don't believe it's exclusive. Otherwise he wouldn't be able to park a caravan.

I live on a non exclusive street and there is a covenant preventing the parking of caravans on drives.

I'm sure there is a covenant in your exclusive deeds that allows you to shoot grubby, caravan owning workmen on a Sunday with a crossbow though. Problem solved.

MrsBucketxx · 27/03/2013 09:29

I looked into this even when cases go to court nothing happens, at most its a breach of contract, they will get a nominal fine.

CooEeeEldridge · 27/03/2013 09:42

You will be flamed for it funny, but I'm totally with you! Lived in similar road (we all paid for landscapers / pretty street lights FFS!), houses looked onto river (sigh as look at car garage across road now) so it was a sort of agreement that we'd all park cars on drive / in garage or on bit of road where no houses were (roughly 10sec walk). All except some tube and his shitty van that he couldn't park on his drive as it made their garden look messy!!! GRR!!!!! You don't realise how much these things can rile you until you experience it.

I now live on a road with no parking so it's a free for all and I LOVE it! Honestly my life has improved since I don't stress about the utter arrogance of some people's sense of entitlement re parking! Ridiculous isn't it?! Smile

Well FFS funny why didn't you say you were in the Channel Islands???

Talk about bloody drip feeding.

You may never post any problems on AIBU. Because clearly you ABU.
Because you are posting from the Channel Islands. And are morally bankrupt.

Take your nice executive house problems and your morally bankrupt self elsewhere.

HTH.
