I came over all frothy in the park earlier when this guy walking 2 big lassie dogs - on leads- let one of them do a massive poo, 2 yards from his feet, on the grass where loads of kids play, then went to walk off.

I just got really mad and stopped and looked at him, then when he went to walk away said "Excuse me, please tell me you're not going to leave that there?"

He mumbled something about waiting for the other dog - so I stood and waited. He then mumbled that he didn't have any bags.

So I (v loudly) said "so you're just going to leave it for kids to step in? That's disgusting- you should be ashamed of yourself. "
I am Blush
There was football going on so people were looking, but I was just so grrrr about it. What an arse. I had DS with me (I was carrying him at the time) so didn't want to frighten him, but couldn't walk past and not say anything.

Pig!

It's vile when the football rolls through it. Sad

drummerswife · 24/03/2013 14:49

yanbu
i was with my dd on the park once and this woman watched as her dog peed at the bottom of the slide [actually on the slide] then just walked off.
i said 'excuse me but i think that needs cleaning of the slide unless you think its ok for small children to land in dog pee'
she just grunted and proceeded wiping it off with a bit of tissue

AngelAtTheTopOfTheTree · 24/03/2013 14:50

Well done OP! Wish more people would do that! x

bigredtractor · 24/03/2013 14:52

Good point Carnivorous - the dogs were pretty distinctive. Two big well-groomed lassie dogs. Plus I'd remember his silly spineless face.

Yanbu and I did the same thing the other day when I saw a couple walking two dogs do exactly the same. Its disgusting, don't have a dog if you aren't going to clean up after it.

CabbageLeaves · 24/03/2013 14:56

Good for you. It's disgusting behaviour. I'm a dog owner and would never dream of walking the dog without 4 bags in my pocket.

I've confronted owners like this. It's really selfish behaviour

You wont be able to beat the Mner that put a turd in the hood of a woman who refused to pick it up..

CarnivorousPanda · 24/03/2013 14:58

There are some lovely open places near me where I have just stopped going. Dog crap everywhere, so you spend the whole walk with eyes fixed to the ground instead of enjoying the view.

I think we need more prosecutions of these sort of owners, it would send out the right message.

bigredtractor · 24/03/2013 14:58

Coffeenowplease I thought of her - she's my heroine!

It is disgusting.

I have an idea I would like to see implemented.

Any dog owner caught doing this repeatedly would have their dog taken and destroyed.

I know it is harsh, but I bet it would work!

I know it won't ever happen though, don't think I've ever heard of anyone even being fined for leaving their dogs shit behind.

HeySoulSister · 24/03/2013 15:06

Why punish the dog? That's ridiculous.

Put the owner down.

abbyfromoz · 24/03/2013 15:15

I have been caught out without bags before- i just ask someone else with a dog and they are always happy to oblige- he's just lazy! YANBU. He is a selfish pig.

thezebrawearspurple · 24/03/2013 15:16

I think the penalty for dog owners like this should be to have to eat the poo, every last bit. That would be a strong enough deterrent. No need to kill dog or ownerGrin

Gigondas · 24/03/2013 15:19

Yanbu - I did this once and said similar but got a mouth full of abuse for it. I walk past the twats house everyday too and still wonder if he ever bothers to clear up.

AnnieLobeseder · 24/03/2013 15:25

LMAO at "resin subtle dog walker". I love autocorrect.

I have been caught short without bags before, and have been variously creative - big leaves, pile of grass etc to transport the poo to a poo-bin. I could never just leave on on a field like that!

DeepRedBetty · 24/03/2013 15:25

Twice in the past year I've smiled sweetly at someone leaving the scene of the crime and said 'Run out of bags? Here, have one of mine' Avoids the confrontation and guilts them into picking up.

The poo in the hood story still makes me smile!

HerrenaHarridan · 24/03/2013 15:27

I always wondered if they cleared up the poo before the kids football! Thank goodness.

Well done op!

Angry To pp who said put the dog down ffs! By all means remove dog from owner but putting it down just means twat will get another dog and then that'll be put down achieving what?

Bring back dog licenses I say

Sparklingbrook · 24/03/2013 15:34

Yes it's sad but true Herrena that a poo shovel is even necessary before the footy. Sad My two are goalies and the thought of them diving to the ground and sliding through dog poo.

One dog walker let the dog run round the pitch while the match was on. She just shrugged and said it could do what it liked. Then gave the coach a mouthful for asking her to call it back. Angry

Shutupanddrive · 24/03/2013 16:22

YANBU, I would have done the same Angry

lollilou · 24/03/2013 16:38

Well done op. I wish everyone would challenge dog owners when this happens, there would be a lot less of it I'm sure.

MuddlingMackem · 24/03/2013 16:41

OP, YWDNBU. At all.

thezebrawearspurple Sun 24-Mar-13 15:16:39

I think the penalty for dog owners like this should be to have to eat the poo, every last bit.

AmberLeaf · 24/03/2013 16:50

Yes I said I know it is harsh, but some dog owners seem to think their animals come before the humans that step in their shit.

It would work as a deterrent.

If people thought their dog was at risk of being killed I bet they wouldn't 'forget' to pick up their shit.
