To be shocked how little boundaries the teen parents of the boys have in rgards to sleep allowing them to play x box till 1am on a school nite Confused and they are saying this is almost every nite

Whats wrong with the uk parents have they lost all back bones the only tech my ds has in his room is a stero

Why can people just remove the dam things a keep mobiles till moring are people that scared of there children

I know why they mention this consistently at parents evening children being tired

If a child can go to be at 1am and still work ,behave well and get up with out a fuss then fair play but i dont think this is most children

But good on the mums with smaller children doing a fab job

Okay

twofaceshenanigans · 19/03/2013 20:36

It's not just UK parents! I'm sure there are parents all over the world in the same situation

TeggieCampbeggBlegg · 19/03/2013 20:38

Mine don't.

But then I'm welsh.

Domjolly · 19/03/2013 20:38

I agree

HollyBerryBush · 19/03/2013 20:39

Don't generalise - this house has 3 teenaged boys and no xbox or PS3 nor any other games consoles

twofaceshenanigans · 19/03/2013 20:40

I agree with you. It isn't ideal but its up to them how they parent.

HearMyRoar · 19/03/2013 20:40

You know that these things aren't exactly representative of every parent in the country....don't you?

CockyPants · 19/03/2013 20:40

DDs teacher told me that parents are afraid of upsetting their children. They are too frightened to say no.

gordyslovesheep · 19/03/2013 20:41

Blimey - didn't realise 2 parents on TV represented everyone in the UK ever!

Domjolly · 19/03/2013 20:42

Sorry twoface i dont agree i very much doubut this lack of sleep dosnt effect there behaviour at school there work and impacts of others in the school

If fine if your teens lack of sleep just effects them sadly its not usually the case

Domjolly · 19/03/2013 20:44

The mums laughing she thinks its a right lark i would be a shamed if my child was only getting 4 or 5 hours sleep

INeverSaidThat · 19/03/2013 20:45

Are you a teacher?

twofaceshenanigans · 19/03/2013 20:45

I don't care what or how other people bring their kids up. It's not any of my business. Like I said, it isn't ideal and not what I'd allow.

I think you need to calm down

Domjolly · 19/03/2013 20:47

INeverSaidThat me no but we do get lectures aimed at certian parents talkning about getting your child to bed ect the effect of there behaviour and work ect during parents evening and were informed a boy even had to be sent home because they were falling asleep in class Confused

OP posts:
Domjolly · 19/03/2013 20:49

Luckily I have a dd who always set her own bedtimes. She would regularly be in bed, asleep by 8pm when she was 13. Funnily enough she also had a PS2 in her room but seemed to manage her own gaming time too. And ds always went to bed at the same time but would be awake until 1am - but had no games console.

So, YABU to make such a sweeping generalisation

INeverSaidThat · 19/03/2013 20:53

Are you a student then?

XBenedict · 19/03/2013 20:55

My brother's DD is just 2 and she asks to go to bed at 7pm, in the day when she's tired she asks to "recharge her batteries" and goes for a 2 hour nap - how lovely! My DCs are good sleepers but not that good! Smile

Domjolly · 19/03/2013 20:57

I think the parents with the little ones are doing a fb job but the lady with the teens peed me off

Domjolly · 19/03/2013 20:57
