Yup, it's the DM.

Post her lecture on carbs, it does amuse me to see that her kids don't actually live in a rarefied, joyless, carb-less world.

Shit! We're supposed to have parenting goals?

Are you Gwynnie in disguise? Grin

Remotecontrolduck · 18/03/2013 21:59

I was reading yesterday about her and her shall we say, alternative, opinions on what a healthy diet consists of. I have to say I love Chris Martin for this, thankfully the kids have one parent who seems a bit more balanced and rational Grin

Remotecontrolduck · 18/03/2013 22:04

And the fact they potentially look like they could be space raiders is just brilliant Grin

DoJo · 19/03/2013 00:05

In fairness, I am only vaguely aware of her as a 'sleb, and have never come across any of her parenting advice, so I probably have been less annoyed by her than most, but I don't think her (or anyone's) kids can or should be expected to conform to her parenting ideals 24/7.

TheBigJessie · 19/03/2013 08:39

Did she ever explicitly say her eating plan was for children though? Or, does she, like most rational people, realise that children have different nutritional needs from adults and shouldn't be put on faddy diets?

cleofatra · 19/03/2013 09:13

er, yes, she did.

Apparently they all have gluten, egg and dairy intolerance.

WilsonFrickett · 19/03/2013 09:19

Well according to the book, yes. She feeds the children exactly what's in the book, they don't eat carbs and they all feel 'that specific hunger' from not eating carbohydrates.

TheBigJessie · 19/03/2013 09:27

In that case, can we have her done for neglect? Depriving children of one out of three dietary macromolecules sounds pretty neglectful

Madmum24 · 19/03/2013 09:28

After consulting my expert opinion I declare the crisps to be these:

sorry can't do linky thing!

waterlego6064 · 19/03/2013 09:53

Think you could be right Madmum.

I believe Gwynnie once said that she 'would rather die' than feed pot noodle to her kids. So it's reasonable to expect that they aren't allowed crisps either.

waterlego6064 · 19/03/2013 09:55

She also said 'I'd rather smoke crack than eat cheese from a tin'. Grin

Chandon · 19/03/2013 09:59

don't think these are her kids though?

WilsonFrickett · 19/03/2013 10:07

You get cheese in tins??????

VisualiseAHorse · 19/03/2013 10:13

Maybe they're those fancy beetroot/carrot/apple crisps...?

MaggieMaggieMaggieMcGill · 19/03/2013 10:30

Ohh-er Missus, those crisps look rather hardcore!

Great research, madmum!

Chandon / Wrangler - the girl next to Chris is his/GP's daughter, Apple. And GP has released a couple of pics of them over the past few months.

Don't know about the crisps but glad it's not just my bichon who gets that bedraggled on walks.

TheBigJessie · 19/03/2013 11:15

I've never read anything by her on diet. So I have to ask, what do they eat then? No egg, no dairy is standard for many people, and quite manageable. But no carbohydrates at all, as well? Do they just fill up on protein, like meat and nuts? Are apples allowed because they only contains simple sugars? What about cake? Does she count that as simple or complex? Well, at least she presumably doesn't make a huge fuss about the fat content of avocadoes!

Is fried bacon a staple meal?

Is she just mad? I'd eat cheese from a tin (which would cause me a day or so of acute intestinal discomfort- I actually do have lactose intolerance) AND let my children eat pot noodles rather than leave them motherless. Confused

WilsonFrickett · 19/03/2013 11:46

Eggs OK.
Lots of salads and salads with grains.
In fact, lots of grains full stop.
Meat and fish OK (as long as the meat has been hand reared by artisan organic farmers, obvs)
Fruit OK
Gluten and sugar free cakes (why would ya?)

Oh yeah, I forgot. No 'deep ocean' fish. I don't even know what they are.

TheBigJessie · 19/03/2013 15:41

Lots of grains, eh? Hmm, perhaps it's not a carbohydrate-free diet. Perhaps it's actually a "posh carbohydrates only diet". Grin Pasta is for plebs, y'know!

WilsonFrickett · 19/03/2013 17:13

Ah yes, the posh grains. Keen-wa which is bogging. Nothing polished or white. Grin
