To roll my eyes everytime a parent sends a Pope well wishing message

and lol a bit everytime I get one.

We are in a Catholic state school, and as you all know that you are meant to attend church and be all religious just to get into the school.

A few of the parents are sending messages about the new Pope, do they really care that much or just showing colleagues how religious they are?

I'm a nice, interested Catholic parent, but I can't be bothered to whitter on to other parents during the school run. I'm generally half asleep and have other stuff on my mind.

I am not religious. I am generally quite nice, but I am also mind-bogglingly shy and cannot bring myself to look at people some days.

Most religious and even lapsed Catholics do care. I'm an atheist one and even I care, it's what you're raised with.

I don't see how religion or lack thereof has anything to do with friendliness. It is local culture which determines the norm for how people react to others and some people are so shy that even if their from the friendliest cultures they may not be able to strike up conversation with a stranger.

Be friendly and open yourself instead of complaining about others failing to fall over themselves welcoming you

but the parents are catholic yes ? why wouldnt they be interested in their new pop Im interested and not even RC , It is a huge even in the RC world why wouldnt parents be sending goodwill messages,

. Who or where are these parents sending well wishing messages? On fb? Or to your phone? Or just generally out loud in the playground? Can you give us an example of one of these messages please
