Okay, just to clarify - I'm seriously hard to offend. Frankie Boyle doesn't offend me, Jimmy Carr doesn't offend me, and even Katie Hopkins just makes me roll my eyes in fleeting irritation.

THIS article has offended the hell out of me, and I'm close to complaining to the paper- which I never, ever thought I'd do in my life....

www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2291904/The-outrageous-confessions-upper-class-Lolita.html

If the link doesn't work, just google Petronella Wyatt "confessions of an upper class Lolita."

Is it just me, or is this utterly vile????????????????

Sorry if someone's already posted about this article, but I couldn't see any such post and just felt I had to share it Shock

Is she the woman Boris Johnson refused to leave his long-suffering wife for?

HairyHandedTrucker · 12/03/2013 12:53

nothing but pity for her.she was sexually assaulted by adults and bet parents used her to their own ends. if she called it what actually was... parent sanctioned child molestation shed have probably tried to kill herself by now. I don't read it as her flirting at all, just being star struck and still fighting off advances if sexual abusers.

HairyHandedTrucker · 12/03/2013 12:55

I'd have thought after the Jimmy saville scandal, even the DM would know better than to pull this shit. thecomments are horrible

LadyPessaryPam · 12/03/2013 13:06

Totally vile article, and it goes to show that all this sleaze has been around forever. They all seem totally bonkers. Glad I am just one of the 'little people', the ones with some moral sense of right and wrong.

DioneTheDiabolist · 12/03/2013 13:21

Of course she has low self esteem. Her father minimized her sexual assaults and pimped her out to his friends under the guise of her learning something.Sad

thezebrawearspurple · 12/03/2013 13:29

The article too stupid and badly written to take seriously, I'd only worry if a proper writer started expressing those sentiments because they might convince someone. yanbu to be offended though, the last line was particularly disgusting.

PopeBenedictsP45 · 12/03/2013 13:43

"What is wrong with the occasional wistful pass made by a man whose youth has faded?"

Yes so we should encourage our daughters to sit on old men's laps out of pity for their faded youth!

Sterling work from the Daily Fail.

LifeHope11 · 12/03/2013 13:57

I found this a disgusting piece on many levels. It is insulting to men - claiming that their behaviour is driven by their sex organs and they have no sense of decency. It is extremely offensive to women and girls especially the many who were victims of sexual assault. In the context of the Jimmy Savile case and the sheer numbers of young victims involved, did the author not bother to reflect on how these sexual predators blight and ruin lives, before writing this?

I was especially shocked by her final statements which outright blame the choices and actions of adult men on the children involved (precocious and predatory girls/it was Eve who tempted Adam). The woman who wrote this is either a moron or she is callous bordering on evil.

minouminou · 12/03/2013 13:58

Having known some vair posh gels in my time, I believe this (or most of it).
One old friend described how friends of the family basically preyed (or attempted to prey) upon her and her friends, and she said: "....you negotiate through it as best you can...".

minouminou · 12/03/2013 14:02

Another girl I knew years ago was telling me about her minor aristo ex-boyfriend.
His idea of sex was to orally rape her, holding her hair, and then say "Thenk you" when he'd done.
He couldn't help it - he needed to be serviced, don't you know......

INeverSaidThat · 12/03/2013 14:13

What a load of crap.

Yet another reason not to read the daily mail not that I needed one

It's less shocking than Frankie Boyle.

Boak at the name dropping.

coatonarack · 12/03/2013 14:23

Yes currantbuns she is. And then she was supposed to marry someone but didn't. So, she lost her job at The Spectator, lost a fiance and once appeared on Sky News paper review. Methinks she needs the money and the Daily Mail only agreed to commission the article if she got more red arrows than erm wotsername - the I'm so beautiful one

HappyJustToBe · 12/03/2013 14:27

It is normal for teenage girls to flirt as they are full of hormones and getting accustomed to having the developing bodies. It is disgusting for men to prey on this.

She really does have a dim view of men and the article is insulting across the board. My DH and male friends would not find it attractive and are perfectly capable of controlling themselves.

coatonarack · 12/03/2013 14:29

She 's a TART!

kerala · 12/03/2013 14:41

Its like shes trying to imply that not condoning sexual assault of young girls is terribly lower-middle, on a par with saying pardon and serviette.

AKissIsNotAContract · 12/03/2013 14:46

I think she's quite a sad person really. I feel quite sorry for her. Her longest relationship was a famous affair with a married man and now she lives with her mother. She has no daughters, she terminated her pregnancy with BoJo.

Not really a good advert for early sexual experiences with much older men.

YouTheCat · 12/03/2013 16:04

Well pardon my serviette! Grin

The only person who cares about her class is her. Just goes to prove, money can't make you intelligent.

willesden · 12/03/2013 16:15

You assume, OP, that the story is true. I think it is just the normal kind of tosh the DM publishes. YABU for reading the tripe and believing it.

Springdiva · 12/03/2013 16:31

I think a priveleged, upperclass exprivate schoolgirl from the 60s will have a totally different attitude to that of the poor kids that Saville took advantage of.

The swinging sixties seemed to revolve around upper class girls and working class blokes more than working class girls who were still slogging in boring jobs.

What she talks about is a v exclusive lifestyle of the haves.

Springdiva · 12/03/2013 16:33

By working class blokes I mean self made men such as David Bailey and Vidal Sassoon.

FreudiansSlipper · 12/03/2013 17:32

I do not think it has anything to do with class just her story more extreme than most and has famous names

my nan, great aunts, mum and aunt all had to fight off older men who just could not help themselves one side is upper middle the other working class it was how it was for many young women and girls they were called dirty old men with wondering hands Hmm other side of my family (Asian) it is still often the way :(
