Is there any way to stop the old bathwater up the fanny phenomenon? Preferably without being measuring for a sink plug. Grin

In some people bath water gets all up there, and then they don't know until later when it embarrasses them by showing up all over the place.

We are trying to think of ways to stop this.

I would say tampon.

Bath+fanjo= banjoGrin

No idea op but good luck!

DontstepontheMomeRaths · 10/03/2013 23:23

I can swoosh it in and out, even before kids I could. I push it all out before exiting the bath Grin

kickassangel · 10/03/2013 23:23

Can those of you with experience give me some tips for avoiding this phenomena at a water park? About 20 mins after getting off one ride, I can be standing in line for the next one, when I feel a relentless trickly running down my legs. I can't exactly get to the end of a ride and then do a squat, whoosh thing before stepping out, right in front of the viewing platforms.

I don't do this every week, but dd loves water parks, and we end up going to one or two every summer.

GregBishopsBottomBitch · 10/03/2013 23:30

Hey ya'll be greatful that you dont have to have a little shower after a number 2, because wiping makes your arse bleed and itch to fuckery.

Never had the water problem, i have a C section.

Just push like your bearing down to give birth,

NightmareSpoon · 10/03/2013 23:32

I don't get this either. How does the water get up there if you're just passively lying there? And where is it hiding until it all comes out?

hiddenhome · 10/03/2013 23:40

How do you get the bath water 'up there' in the first place? Confused

sausagebaconandtomatobutty · 10/03/2013 23:45

Omg, I shower so don't have this but I went swimming and in the shower after I thought I was having an accident!

I'm not a total freak after all

MunchMunch · 10/03/2013 23:51

How weird that this thread has been started, this happened tonight to dd who is 5. She went to lie down in the bath then quickly grabbed her tups. Poor thing looked so shocked but she seemed relieved when i asked if thats what happened. I just hope all the water came out as she's in my bed tonight.

BabyMakesTheBellyGoRound · 10/03/2013 23:52

I think some of use may be a bit more 'sucky' than others.

Ledkr · 11/03/2013 06:50

I've had sections too but it happened to me last night!
It must kind if seep in as you wallow I guess.
Weird.

SausageInnaBun · 11/03/2013 09:13

This happens to me too! I hate it but I suppose it gets really clean Grin. It has only started happening since I has DS2, my pelvic floor isn't too bad but things definitely feel looser down there. I don't think there is a way to stop it Sad

Goldrill · 11/03/2013 09:38

sit on the loo and blow your nose.
It always happens to me and has done since I was a super-fit teenager with a pelvic floor of steel.

CelticPromise · 11/03/2013 09:41

Surely a tampon would just lead to a sodden tampon to expel along with the water? No point.

VisualiseAHorse · 11/03/2013 09:43

I have really never heard of this before.

BreconBeBuggered · 11/03/2013 09:45

I think this must be to do with inner, erm, topography than muscle tone. It never happens to me and my pelvic floor is composed of something resembling single ply tissue paper.

ILikeBirds · 11/03/2013 09:53

Low muscle tone would let everything out straightaway, surely the problem is caused by the opposite?

Sparklingbrook · 11/03/2013 09:56

Oh yes ILike. the fact my fanny can hold gallons of water and let it out half an hour later means my muscle tone is top notch. Grin

BabyMakesTheBellyGoRound · 11/03/2013 10:02

If we were a bit slackBlush then water would be sloshing in and out. Maybe its cause when we sit/lie in the bath and then we stand and everything's as tight as a misers purse.

My sister had two sections and gets this too,so not just a natural birth or even birthing side effect.

When I was pregnant with my last DC I had had a bath and was sitting down drying my hair. I let a fart and then all this water gushed. I was 36 weeks so thought it was my waters but a quick trip to the maternity unit confirmed it was just bathwater Blush Smile

OP posts:
KellyElly · 11/03/2013 10:13

God I thought this was just me Blush. In my case it has only happened since having DD and things seem fairly ok down there with regards to not peeing when I sneeze and sex feeling fine. I'm going on holiday in June and am really worried about it. I find it slightly better if I keep doing pushing the water out with my pelvic muscles while in the bath and as I'm getting out - doesn't work fully though. I'm thinking of getting one of those electronic pelvic toners to see if that helps.

Catchingmockingbirds · 11/03/2013 11:01

I've honestly never heard of this before. I had a natural birth too, and have no pelvic floor as I found out last week when I had a big sneeze Blush.

Does it all fall out as soon as you get out of the water or is there a bit of a delay?

AnyFucker · 11/03/2013 11:06

Where does all the bath water lurk until it feels the moment is right to make a gushing reappearance ?

The same place as seminal fluid, I guess.

Sparklingbrook · 11/03/2013 11:09

Catching there can be a fairly long delay. Sad
