To be thinking go the fuck to sleep

Just that really.

Have been sitting in dark next to 2 year old dd's bed for almost an hour. She was up at 7am, had an hour's nap after lunch. Put her into bed at 7:30pm, and she's still not asleep.

I need the loo and a glass of wine (not at the same time obviously)

YANBU. I probably have resorted to drinking wine on the loo. Multitasking!

Purplehonesty · 09/03/2013 20:22

I hate it when they do this!!

MuddlingMackem · 09/03/2013 20:22

YANBU. And you're not the first to think it.

This author actually wrote it, it's hilarious by the way. Grin

Downstairs wine in hand. Smile

There would be much wailing if I left the room. And possibly a launching herself head first out of bed incident.

I"ll share some of the gorgeous Tim minchin with you. Here's his LULLABY

Not for children, ever!

AmazingBouncingFerret · 09/03/2013 20:42

"Thank God for DD - gets chucked in her cot at 6:30pm and that's it. Mind you she's only 12 weeks so I'm aware this could all change!"

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

That is all.

BananaPie, I feel your pain. DD was a non self settler, used to find myself commando crawling out of her room once she had finally dropped off.

AmazingBouncingFerret did you crack it in the end? Any tips?

OP posts:
AmazingBouncingFerret · 09/03/2013 21:05

DD slept like the incredible sleeping baby (put down awake off she went until dreamfeed and then woke in early hours for quick feed) until she was about 5 months old and then it all went to pot. She must of read something somewhere about sleep being for the weak.

You could be lucky like I was with PFB DS. He had the same treatment, thrown into moses basket/cot while still awake, dreamfeed etc this never changed, I honestly thought DD was broken when she started her nighttime shenanigans. Grin

Thankfully they now enjoy their sleep, it's a pain in the backside waking them for school though...

AmazingBouncingFerret · 09/03/2013 21:08

BananaPie, I just used to sit further away from her until I was outside of her room while she was still awake. In the end it just sort of... stopped.

Hopefully it all sorts out soon, DD was about your DD's age when she started settling better.
