AIBU to be thinking my clothes should fit by now?

My ds is just over 5 weeks and was born by c section. I never was a big exerciser but do walk 30 mins about 5 times a week. Some of my clothes fit me but lots don't.

AUBU to wish my skinny jeans didn't give me a squishy belly?
Will I fit into my clothes again? Get your crystal ball please!! I'm trying to be careful what I eat but don't always succeed!

I keep reading about women who lost the baby weight within a week or so. Definitely not me. Am 10 stone 1 and ore baby was 9 stone 8.

My baby was 4 years old this week and I still am not back to what I was before I conceived him.

I put way too much pressure on myself and coupled with an underactive Thyroid, I didn't lose the weight like I normally would.

It has lead to me having a massive mental block re losing weight and I now weigh about 20lbs more than when I weighed myself 2 weeks post partum. (when I was 10lbs off my pre baby weight)

No idea to get myself sorted! I'm stuck in a cycle of losing a bit then spectacularly falling off the wagon.

But my message to you OP is to go easy on yourself, enjoy your baby, eat healthily (most if the time) and get out with the pushchair!
But don't put pressure on yourself.

step away from all magazines only celebs get body back in 6 weeks because they have help trainers nannies house keepers etc

it is not just the weight it is the stomach muscles I think current advice is that you should not do sit ups etc before 6 weeks after birth

I am same wight as before DD ( now 3) but not same shape was hourglass with narrow waist now waist larger

just give it more time skinny jeans are not forgiving

17months ago I had DS by section and still don't fit into my pre pregnancy jeans. I've been left with a shelf above my scar. Also I only stopped bf 3 weeks ago and only now starting to lose weight.
Give yourself a break op, it's not healthy to lose weight so quickly after giving birth. Your body's been through too much already. I know lots of slebs do it but they have nutritionists, trainers, chefs and nannies (so no night waking for any of them), so they have way more support than us mere mortals. They probably have an army of assistants just to divert them from the chocs and cake!

I reckon lots of celebs also have surgery.

Re the celeb 'snap back' - it's also how they act in pregnancy, not what they do afterwards that matters. At my work there's a female partner who was determined to do the 'snap back' so she had a dietian decide what she should eat when pregnant (no pigging out, no giving in to cravings, she still ate salad for lunch most days and still cut out most carbs) - she only allowed herself an extra 400 calories a day to her pre-pregnancy diet (and she was on a restricted diet beforehand). She was still seeing a personal trainer when pregnant 3 times a week - getting someone who specialised in pregnant woman. She had beautician treatments weekly that were focused on the skin on the bump.

She did manage the 'snap back' quite well, but then her DS was rather small given her and her DH's heights and both their family norms for big babies...

Basically, if you wait until you've had the baby to start thinking about getting your figure back, you've left it too late if you want to do it quickly.

If by the time your DC is 7-8 months and you still aren't seeing an improvement, then think about increasing your exercise, but just enjoy yourself for now.

And buy new cheap jeans in a larger size rather than trying to squeeze into too small ones.

I've had 5 babies! When i was young&fit i could get back into my clothes in about2 weeks, with dc1 &2.

Im size 8. By dc5 it was taking a bit longer....

So my tip is go&buy just 1or 2 pairs jeans in a bigger size. Also tummy control pants...the bigger the better!

Honestly if you seen me naked i look like a deflated old balloon but good underwear &a decent fitting pair jeans& you will (most importantly) feel better.

Take care of yourself & you new baby. There's loads of time to get into skinny jeans.

Five weeks? You daft bugger Grin. Give yourself a break (and avoid full length mirrors when you're naked - trust me, the day after a c-section you do not want to be confronted with that)
