Sorry just saw that someone else said that already! Blush

ppeatfruit · 04/03/2013 13:47

LRD No I didn't say use it neat but a lot of people find it very good (mixed with warm water) for bacterial infections. I use it neat but I don't buy cheap Boots stuff because it is mixed with other stuff you don't want. AND it has to be FRESH.

Anyone remember the thread where a poster put garlic up her bottom ( can't remember why) but suddenly had a violent urge to go, had to go in work toilet...was not pretty.

cozietoesie · 04/03/2013 13:58

The critical thing is not to wash with anything containing ordinary soap or detergent. Clear the shelf of your usual potions and head on down to the E45 counter at the chemist. Then have a bath or shower directly to get rid of residual detergent/perfume.

Erik - ignore! Smile

No disposable san pro here either, or soap (well, not down there, anyway)

Check carefully, Makes. People 'avoid soap' and then pour bath creme into their bath (just perfumed detergent) or use shampoo in the shower (which flows downwards.) Make sure there's no contact with detergents whatsoever.

Chuck some baking soda in the bath for the itching?

And thank you for brightening my day Grin

twentythirteen · 04/03/2013 15:10

get some ice and sit on it for a while.

Dawndonna · 04/03/2013 15:17

If Canesten is burning you're allergic to it. Get something else.

JugglingFromHereToThere · 04/03/2013 15:20

Yeh, I did think that too Erik, hard to ignore and glad someone said something.

TeWiSavesTheDay · 04/03/2013 15:24

I reported it.

I've got no help though OP! Unless, do you use condoms? Could be the lube on whichever brand you're using. I found I didn't get on with some.

SelfconfessedSpoonyFucker · 04/03/2013 15:25

smelly/coloured toilet paper or washing products such as drier sheets and washing powder can do it for me. Have you changed any of those?

WilsonFrickett · 04/03/2013 16:50

Also, if none of the classic thrush remedies are working, it may not be candida. I think the GPs can do a test.

Idocrazythings · 04/03/2013 17:02

Have you tried some frozen peas in a little plastic baggy? Doesn't do anything for the thrush, but is soothing after the initial cold shock. Swear!

Also try some zinc tablets (orally of course), they are very good for tissue healing (get good ones)

Good luck I feel your pain you poor thing

Misssss · 04/03/2013 18:08

I did this, on Friday. NEVER AGAIN. Reading up on thrush remedies and found it on the internet. Crushed a clove, mixed with yogurt and applied to my poor fanjo. The burn, I can still feel it now. I was half an hour late to work because I had to shower instantly to wash it all out. Please please don't do it. Just go to the chemist.

ophelia275 · 04/03/2013 19:06

Don't do it! The membranes of your vag are really delicate and garlic is very very strong and can be dangerous. I would seriously reconsider.

FarBetterNow · 04/03/2013 19:15

If you are prone to thrush, cut out any foods with sugar in, coffee, bread and any other foods with yeast in, including alcohol.
Take BioKult probiotics, or any other good probiotic. Take them every day.
Please don't put garlic any where near you fanjo.
Just eat it! (The garlic).
