That is the problem lainiekazan.
I too made that mistake,[dont think I got flamed].
But I didnt want to post in chat as the thread totally disappears in 3 months.
That wouldnt matter for some threads, probably most threads.

But a few of the threads I start, I use the answers for other posters to refer to in the future. Threads about how to improve self esteem, and other such threads.

Most forums have their share of weirdos, bullies, smartarses and just downright rude ignorant people. AIBU is no different and yes, there are some deeply unpleasant people who post on here and cause a lot of offense, annoyance and hurt feelings.
But there are also lots of witty, entertaining, quirky and creative posters who are a joy to read and really cheer me up and make me laugh .

In that case, perhaps AIBU needs to be split in 2?

For the ones who might enjoy starting a thread in AIBU and know what may be coming, and those who would only want to go in a much gentler version.
