To think the difference between the top and bottom pics could be the secret to the mil/dil divide?

Started another thread on this - as the pics tickled me but I couldnt work out why.

Now I do - I think its because alot of mil/dil probs come because we have changed so much in our roles - ( women) since them and us - and they see sons coming home to pic 1 which could be me and they get upset?

That 13 hours includes cooking and that kind of thing so probably do more than you think.

Hmm, in the 50s my MIL was having lots of dcs by different men and then abandoning them to the care system/various family members. I'm pretty sure she'd be more like pic one! (whereas I, of course, look more like pic two Wink). I do in fact have a tablecloth in use at the moment , It's just a shame it's still there from Christmas when I put it over the coffee table to hide all the magazines/catalogues/dust underneath it when we had visitors!

once when my mil came round whilst my dh was hoovering she said you make a lovely wife (dh name)!!!!
