To ask who the hell has passed a driving test in exeter recently without killing themselves?,

I have my test this week! Am nervous as hell! My instructor has purposely left the dangerous haldon hill Devon expressway until yesterday and today as he said it was too dangerous to do any earlier in my lessons. Suffice to say that was my first experience of slip roads and driving a 60mph down a very steep hill and I'm now shitting it for my test ! He has also kindly told me that another girl rolled her car on that route ! Aaaargghhhhhh!

Any exeter mummies out there that have done a test recently that can reassure me that they don't all get taken up haldon hill?!

It may well be RIP sannaville by the end of week!

and there was me thinking 'being taken up haldon hill' was a euphemism Grin well done op St Davids

Well done! I remember my dad giving me special Haldon Hill instructions (mainly consisting of 'the bend at the bottom is steeper than it looks'). Actually I find going up Haldon Hill (in either direction) more of a pita.

Did have to turn around in a blizzard there in 1970 something - the days before crash barriers so my mum and dad could just push the car over the central reservation.....

Polka!,!

Thanks guys no I didn't do haldon only went on a small section of it, nearly ran a cat over, rolled back on a hill start and examiner said he should've failed of me but decided not to! And did a shitey job of my bay park as I've been practising parking reversing left and their bays were on the right !! Had a heart attack when I saw that at the end!

But it's done and yes now I can go out and teach myself now!,

Had a frightening experience where a car was hidden in my blind spot and was just not there at all in my mirrors! Just about to pull out when I saw it. Scary. Good luck everyone else! And if you get the little old guy with glasses at exeter test centre keep him talking as the more he talks the less marks he makes on his bit of paper which can only be good ;)

It really depends doesn't it if you get someone nice, 2 fails now on one test I had 4 minors, next one 5 minors but got a serious fault first time for my parking (admittedly it was crap!) 2nd time for the bloody red light.
It costs a fortune and another 2 months until I can test again :(

sannaville · 01/03/2013 14:08

Try and take a cancellation lavita, I've never ever parked on the right before so thought I was well and truly stuffed st the end but just managed it. Most of my minors were for not checking my left mirror on roundabouts. I always approach lights veryyyy slow as I always ran reds right up to my test was lucky today I think
