To think if you sit near an Under 5s area, it's going to be noisy!

So this shopping centre's management have a notice up saying screaming children are not allowed in?

I don't know about any of you, but I've certainly never planned to have my toddlers start screaming while I'm shopping!

It seems this stems from complaints by staff and shoppers sitting near the under 5s play area.

Am I missing something or is this completely insane?

I don't think those types of parents would pay much attention to signs regardless. Rules tend not to apply to their children

If your child screamed unceasingly in any restaurant or cafe you would probably be asked to remove them for the sake of the other paying customers; whether you'd been warned of this in advance or not.
The sign is just to forstall idiots whining how unfair it is that their little darlings can't run amok unheeding of anyone else around them.

I do agree there. But they are also the type of parents who, if asked to control their kids would argue that there is no sign there to say they should...

In my local pub the staff have had to put up signs asking parents to stop their children running around, because despite common sense telling most people that serving staff walking around carrying hot food and drink, and small children on the loose is a recipe for a nasty accident, there are many who still pay no attention to what their offspring are doing.
