£37,500k, PR. I work full time. It would be a good place to work when I have children as they are quite flexible. I suspect they'd let me cut my hours to four days/week for example.

RonaldMcDonald · 16/02/2014 23:37

Between £80-£100k pa. It would be fairly easy to know who I am as I work in a v small field in my area so I'll refrain from occupation. 10+ yrs training though

SpecialHandsMummy · 17/02/2014 00:19

Research scientist and manager of small team. PhD qualification since 2000. £40k.

Bingbongbinglybunglyboo · 17/02/2014 11:40

I'm a c list celeb, I earn loads for doing not very much and wearing low tops.

longingforsomesleep · 17/02/2014 12:26

About £24k for 21 hours a week for doing admin work based at home.

Weegiemum · 17/02/2014 12:28

I work in education for a small charity. 2.5 days a week brings in £15k. Dh is a GP on around £120k.

itsasmallworldisntit · 17/02/2014 12:36

Pork pie taster. £13k

madam777 · 17/02/2014 13:10

Still shocked at how high some of the salaries are, and that these people think it's more the norm! Aside from salary, my pension isn't even that great. Did you marketers/sales people do an MBA or was that not required? It must be the industry, I think I should change career. Consumer electronics, everybody always wants things for cheap which pushes wages down. Should have gone into energy/telecoms/baking/medicine. I'm going to actively look into energy jobs. Honestly just can't believe this thread - the number of high earners is way more than I expected and shows me I'm just in the wrong industry - any of you on over £60k count yourselves rich (unless you're near London)! Time for a change.

scrummummy · 17/02/2014 13:18

IT project Management it depends on the sector I work in but around £65k+ for FT and about £450 per day contract.
DH also in IT about the same. depends on the industry, financial sector more money.

Callani · 17/02/2014 13:49

Banking, FT, £30k. I am very glad I didn't apply for medical school reading this thread - I knew the hours were ridiculous, but it seems the pay isn't much better than I get for relatively normal office hours (45 hrs / week)

oneplusoneplustwo · 17/02/2014 15:17

I'm a midwife and I earn just over 10k a year working one 13-hour day a week. Take home is pretty good as I don't pay much tax on such a low salary.

ephemeralfairy · 17/02/2014 15:28

I'm clerical/admin in the public sector so pay freeze for last few years. Am on £16k in London. It is a constant struggle.
I'm doing a Master's next year which will boost my earning power by about £8-10k, more if I can get into the private sector.

ilovechips · 17/02/2014 15:28

Currently sahm...however before leaving for mat leave was a sexual health nurse, just under £26k full time mon-fri.

TheDoctorsNewKidneys · 17/02/2014 15:32

Retail. £6.82/hr plus annual bonus. I earn about £400/month on average, but don't earn enough to pay tax, which is nice.

DP earns £1,200 a month before tax/CSA.

thriftymrs · 17/02/2014 15:52

Very interesting thread, very good of you all to be so open about what you do and how much you earn. I am currently a senior PA / legal exec (over 25 years experience) on 29k gross for 4 days a week BUT 5k season ticket costs and 16 hours weekly travel time. On a pay freeze for 7 years. No perks and no bonuses. Did earn 45k at one point for Business Affairs Manager role. Due, among other factors, to technology advances, the market dropped out of my industry, the firm collapsed and I was made redundant. Now earning less pro rata than I was as a PA 12 years ago. My boss considers that giving me the flexibility to work 4 days a week counterbalances the lack of any pay rise!

jay55 · 17/02/2014 15:59

£450 per day.
Financial IT.

I don't mind being seen as vulgar, that attitude contributes to women earning less.

glasgowsteven · 17/02/2014 16:06

Engineer 31k

First year post uni......

billyokey · 17/02/2014 16:19

LaGuardia · 17/02/2014 16:28

Agency nurse. £30 p/h plus all the grapes I can eat Grin

CuChullain · 17/02/2014 16:38

Freelance engineer in the Oil & Gas industry, approx £165k (depending on how many days I take off).

FruitbatAuntie · 17/02/2014 17:12

£53.60 per month - SAHM. Ex gets Child Benefit for our oldest child and is refusing to sign it over. HMRC refused to believe we split several months ago, he can't afford to move out, so I have to beg my ex for money for food, soap, tampons... it's shit.

Have been looking for work for a year, there's very few jobs at even min wage here. It's all s/e leaflet distributors, avon reps etc.

SilveryMoon · 17/02/2014 18:30

I'm a teaching assistant, £19,000
Dp is a railway engineer and on about £36,000

KenDoddsDadsDog · 17/02/2014 18:32

herethereandeverywhere · 17/02/2014 18:41

£40k, 2 days per week. Company solicitor. Over 10 years doing the hard yards (crazy hours, crazy stress, no work life balance) before I got a role with reasonable hours and pay.

quirrelquarrel · 17/02/2014 18:45

Student. I get lots of lovely money from student finance.

And I work in a shop one day a week and get paid just over £5 an hour, which in a month makes up just under half my rent. I know people who get so much more working in shops but the staff are lovely at mine.
