What a lovely person you sound, OP. Hmm

cumfy · 06/02/2013 23:46

Is the bike a Honda ?

CoolaSchmoola · 06/02/2013 23:56

OP - you don't have a communal garden - you share a communal garden - which means that ALL residents, whether they owe you money or not who cares? have equal rights to use that garden in whatever way they choose, including keeping a bike, broken or otherwise, in it.

Unless there is a "no bikes in the garden" clause there is nothing you can do. That includes moving HER property anywhere, be that back upstairs or into the river.

She has as much right to the communal garden as you the name is indicative of that and can use it in any way she likes unless she is in breach of a specific agreement.

You, however, have no rights to touch her belongings.

And you are being absolutely unreasonable. And frankly quite bizarre!

quoteunquote · 07/02/2013 00:01

OP, what does the neighbour owe you money for?

HarrietSchulenberg · 07/02/2013 00:01

Yes, river's the best place for it Thunder. Though you're going to look a bit of a nutter carrying it all the way over there. Why not just dump it in your neighbour's garden instead? Or maybe you have a nice wildlife sanctuary nearby that could do with mucking up a bit.

Wonder what she'll do in revenge?

Pandemoniaa · 07/02/2013 00:06

OP - you don't have a communal garden

No. She doesn't. Apparently she has a communial garden.

Take it to the bike shop for repairs and then declare it the 'communal bike'. Then thank her for her community spirit.

PeckhamBeckam · 07/02/2013 00:09

In what way is it broken?

CoolaSchmoola · 07/02/2013 00:11

Pandemoniaa - I just couldn't type it. I tried but my fingers rebelled and insisted on the correct spelling of communal the bastards.

Can't even blame autocorrect.

OldLadyKnowsNothing · 07/02/2013 00:11

The pansies have died. :(

SaggyOldClothCatpuss · 07/02/2013 00:14

If I was your neighbour, and you threw my bike in the river, I would report your arse to the Police, and then I'd report your arse to the Environment Agency! Its a communal garden. It doesnt belong to you.
If she is breaking the rules of the flats, report her to the council or management company. if not, butt out.

The Communial Garden

Butterflies dance
Round twisted spokes.
Nearby, a hairy corpse.

Screaminabdabs · 07/02/2013 01:11

That's really good, cumfy. Poignant and apt.

You could be MN deletion haiku writer-in-residence.

ripsishere · 07/02/2013 01:17

What a beautiful little poem.
Could the OP have it engraved on a piece of marble or metal, prop it up against the offensive bike and make it installation art.
You could perhaps charge money to view it and recoup the cash she owes you.

TheSkiingGardener · 07/02/2013 01:19

Grow sweet peas up it.

OwlBeThereForYou · 07/02/2013 01:34

I like to think OP went to throw the bike in the river before realising how cold and dark it is outside...so started new thread name calling. Still a bit confused as more than one person has decided the bike dumping is a stupid idea whichitis but new thread only having a go at one?! passingtimetilnewthreaddeleted-- Grin

Bollocks! I'm not getting this line through words thing right! I'm blaming the iPhone but I think it might be me Hmm

YorkshireDeb · 07/02/2013 06:52

Just realised this is the source of the "worra is a cunt" thread. Don't get it. Worra probably made the least offensive comment on here. This thread is definitely a wind up though. No one could get that upset about a bike that doesn't belong to her in a garden that also does not belong to her. X

Back in my youth, I lived in a house share with some mates. There was a lady next door who had turned the top of her garage into a roof garden and so overlooked our yard.

My housemate had his old motorbike in there that he planned to do up - inoffensively leaning against the fence. We had letters off next door complaining about it "ruining the view from her terrace". Then one day the bike was mysteriously covered in superglue ......

She was mad as a box of frogs. Just saying.
