To despair at EVER finding a bra that fits?!

So, I have read every website on the subject, been measured at Bravissimo, and STILL find every single bra uncomfortable - even the ones that Bravissimo said were the right size. I just want to rip the thing off as soon as I get in from work. They seem fine for about an hour, then start to dig in.

I find that they just 'curl up' at the back, and I get horrible back fat, or dig in at the side/arm pit, but mainly on just one side! The band never seems to sit flush to my side iyswim. I have tried going up a band and down a cup, down a band and up a cup etc, have tried every style going..........

I found when I wore my saggy old too big bras they gave me no shape or support, but my god they were comfy!

I think I am about a 36/38 E/F. I have ordered and sent back about ten bras this last month as they just all HURT.

So, AIBU to just let 'em all hang out and be pain-free??!!!!

OP, where are you based? If anywhere near London, you should come in for a lovely day out and visit Rigby and Peller. Failing that, John Lewis are pretty good at fitting. Bravissimo do not seem to have sorted you out so one of these two should see you right.

I struggled with the previous lot of bras from Bravissimo - ended up taking them back and getting refitted by the Manager (and got new, more comfortable bras as replacement to the others that had been digging in).

However, I've found this style to be a revelation as the straps being closer to the centre at the back means that the straps can give better support without slipping off my shoulders - they're really comfortable for me and don't show under clothes either.

AnyFucker mine are bigger but pretty floppy and bottom heavy, I find a balconette type fits best. They flop their way out of the middle of a plunge, and a full cup gapes at the top.

31" under, 34" over, fullness all under breast and boobs v high on my chest. Gave up wearing a bra at all after many attempts to replace my now long dead Sloggi Sensual bras.

Sigh, can anyone help me. After bf all bras hurt and I want to fling them off at the end of the day. Have been going up a cup. Down a back size and spending ££££ on bras to wear them once. Back band measures 37, have tried 36 on the last hook and feels like my ribs will pop, 38 band tightest fit moves around indepentantly to me. Was a 38e in my bf bra and it was so comfy (but ugly). Have a fanstasie 38e and feels good til I look in the mirror sideways and my boobs are pointing down.

I think most people find the smaller size better if they're between sizes, but back sizes vary between bras even within brands. Most of the support comes from the band so it sounds like 38 isn't working for you. If you're trying the wrong cup size ot might make the 36 feel too tight.

I find the bra fitters in debenhams and house of Fraser better than bravissimo. It is not just about the size it is the make of bra they came up different shapes. I find Freya bras (32gg) fit me very well. A good bra fitter will know what makes are best for your shape

Just do not go to m&s their bras are made by different factories and come up in very different sizes and shape

Anyfucker I too have the puddling issue. Big dollop of boob at bottom, gaps at top. This is in a balconette btw. I refuse as a matter of aesthetics to wear those horrible full cup bras, and I fall out of plunges.

Someone posted about those opitifit bras up thread. I have looked at those, and they seem to have the potential to lead to some very sweaty cleavages

Chantelle bras are good ime, they are expensive but they are often left at the end of John Lewis or Harrods' sale, I got a black lace balconette & Swarovski crystal bra reduced from £150 to £14.99! Guess no one will pay that for a bra . Fenwicks lingerie department is also good. I don't rate Selfridges or Harvey Nichols, too fashiony & not enough DD, E or F cups.

Currently wearing natural coloured full cup style underwired Chantelle bra, v comfortable & provide a good forward shape (I hate bras which try & make you barrel shaped & push breasts towards my armpits). I am a 32 E so the cups need to be quite close together. The tops of my breasts disappeared after 3 pregnancies & nursing 3 hungry babies.

I got my last bra from John lewis and it is really comfy. the fitter told me I had wide boobs (or words to that effect) I had to try on about 10 bra's before I found one which fitted.

but I think it depends on who is fitting you. generally a bra should fit you on it's tightest setting when you first get it, but then the elastic starts to give and do you need to tighten the band and the straps. bodies aren't symmetrical.

I think you need something like a 36J then but I always forget which letters are the doubles so I might be one out. Pretty sure F is too small a cup.

Ooooh forward shaping. Where do you get those? In freak sizings? All the bras I have push boobs outwards, rather than forwards and pointy, and I hate them

Me again. I have tried a bigger cup and smaller band (went down to 34 up to ff) and they weren't right either- the ff cup was too big.

Someone up thread said it - that the band sort of folds over at the side, and that digs in, and then creates fat (on me). I have more under my arms/at my back than anywhere else, but a bigger cup size didn't help.... hhmmmm maybe I need to stick to a 36/38 band (but my freya deco plunge 38 is on it's tightest hook) but go to a ff or g? I also find the band digs and rubs about 1.5 cms below my boobs, and leaves big red marks at the top of my (not very flat) tummy.

Oh I am so confused!
