AIBU?

To think that if this daft woman on the telly could 'feel' that she was standing on Richard III's grave...

Then they should have just dug under her feet?

I'd have dropped her in the hole once I'd got him out

DH reckons it wasn't your run of the mill doc, possibly commisioned and choice of presenter and focus on Philippa, based on the fact that no- one really expected it to turn out like this

She provided entertainment and now I can't get the stupid deaths song out of my head Grin

I coudn't stop humming '..they're stupid 'coz they're true' all the way through that.

Agree, Jamie, not too many resources thrown at the film upfront because it must have looked so unlikely to come off. But that made it better IMO, we woudn't have had Stupid Deaths doing the presenting if it had been taken terribly seriously. I do like Tony Robinson but it was soooo much more amusing to have Simon 'Stupid Deaths' doing it. Wonder how he got involved? (I missed the first five minutes.)

I came on here to post

AIBU to think she is a bit doodles to have a crush on a man that has been dead over 500 years?!

She was a bit batty wasnt she?

I am glad it turned out to be him, as it will be great from a historical pov, putting to rest some rumours and confirming others. But the fact that she was practically in tears at the thought that he had a scoliosis after spending years telling everyone he didnt was a bit ott! "I see a living breathing man...." really? !

It was the ceremonial wrapping in a flag followed by the unceremonial stuffing of the box into the back of a van that made me laugh! She did seem to behave like he was a close personal friend rather than a long-dead monarch. Very interesting programme though.

The "He doesnt look like a tyrant" got me too. And fwiw, I think he did kill the princes in the tower, or had them killed, just because he was made into a bad guy by the tudors doesnt actually mean that he wasnt!

Lol yes that chap carrying the box - it was all a bit Chuckle Brothers, To Me To You. Trying to come up with something reverential in the car park, then shoved in the back next to the wellies.

It wasn't even a nice flag. Probably came from The Tower gift shop bargain bin.

I found the format rather annoying and wished it was more of a Time Team special with more focus on the archaeology and less on the woman who came across as a bit bonkers. It would have been interesting even if it hdn't been Richard.

So he lost the battle, lost his kingdom had huge holes knocked in his head, thrown naked over a horse, stabbed in the backside, tied up and shoved into a hasty unmarked grave, then deserted for 500 years until people started parking on his head.

I'm sure the crappy polyester flag made it all better.

I want to know what will happen to him now. Has he had or will he get a burial in Westminster as other monarchs have or not because he may have killed the rightful heirs?

What happens afterwards interests me just as much!

I am crying here! Is it real?! Or is this all an elaborate Chris Morris set up?

"Very uncomfortable viewing actually. A real shame as well, this should be a great programme and I'm just distracted by Stupid Death in his jumper and a loony woman in denial"

This.

Stupid Deaths man has made this bearable. Phillipa is probably trying to make arrangements to marry the skeleton. She is bonkers! The crappy flag bit was ace.

Just read that he will be interred in Leicester Cathedral, and Mrs Richard III is adamant that he did not kill the princes.....so what happened to them?

He got stabbed in the butts :(

What does this mean for Liz and the clan? Di was a Plantagenet descendant. Therefore Wills and Harry are descendants of Tricky Dicky. Does this mean they can pass Go and push nan off the throne?

OOOOOH SPOOKY two princes... more right to throne than current occupant... if anything happens to them boys...

Bups, he got stabbed in the arse after he was killed, part of the humiliation of being beaten.

Bogeyface · 04/02/2013 23:45

Arent they also descendants of the Tudor house too so they have a claim from both sides?

BupcakesAndCunting · 04/02/2013 23:57

:( :( :(

Poor Rich :(

They are Tudor descendants too yes, I think. What does it mean? Where is David Starkey when you need him?
