to ask AIBU to choose their favourite poster to name the foster pup after?

Foster pup is a 10 week old Pitbull pup (not in UK) with sugically removed tail and ears poor little git. He has been named "Carrot" because, to a 10 year old boy, apparently "his bum looks like the end of a carrot". We want to find him a good home and want to give him a respectable name to make up for his ghastly start. he will probably go the the US.
I thought it may be nice to offer his naming as a tribute to the AIBU people who make my working day go faster and have made me a (slightly) better person.

NB, I didn't cut off his tail or ears nor did I choose the breed. he is a charming little thing who was bought by some git for fighting. they land on my doorstep and what to do?

Honey, we have had a Pan already (now in canada and has his own bedroom). Sadly too many animals have passed through us in the last 10 years. Pan was a great dog, a great dane with a very haughty manner but a weakness for sardines. Hence the next being called, sadly, Sardiner because she was a girl.

He is a lovely dog and we will most likely send hm to a US Texas home where he will be happy. And rest assured, no dog leaves us until they have a perfect home and we do check. We pay flight, they pay customs and then we pay for the crate to be sent back if no saintly us people can bring it, we always keep them until a proper home can be found. We never rehome unless we can keep in touch and monitor which means we keep the sad old bent ones.

Kudos to you on the great work you do for those animals Smile

Off topic, but did I read correctly that you owned a monkey?!?

StuntGirl · 31/01/2013 15:17

Oh, I love the idea of him being called Pom!

FlouncingMintyy · 31/01/2013 15:21

Mitmoo, Mitmoo, Mitmoo, oh please, it has to be Mitmoo!

Bottleoffish · 31/01/2013 15:30

It's not a mumsnetters name, but I once heard a story on the radio of a 'hero' dog called 'oi' and thought it was a great name. Just imagine teaching recall.... Grin

AreYouADurtBirdOrALadyBird · 31/01/2013 15:45

Please call him YouOldSlag. I can just imagine some poor bloke calling him in at night. Grin

WireCatWhore · 31/01/2013 15:50

Name him after me.

NorksAreMessy · 31/01/2013 15:58

well I came on to say Fenton, of course, and see she has said that 'Norks' would be a daft name for a dog.

I dont know whether to be delighted that she has given me a shout out or saddened because I don't have a good enough name for a pooch

Actually, Fenton, you do have a point :o

Fenton · 31/01/2013 16:06

Well quite, it's not at all that it's not good enough, just the thought of teaching him recall in a busy park Grin

NorksAreMessy · 31/01/2013 16:20

"Here Norks...Norks stop it...get down Norks" I take your point :)

Neighbourhoodwatchbitch · 31/01/2013 16:44

I vote for HullyGully

ScampiFriesRuleOK · 31/01/2013 16:49

Scampi!

A brill name for a bruiser, to make him seem more cute and scrappy.

Oh? It's my name too? That handn't crossed my mind, honest! Grin

seeker · 31/01/2013 16:50

I know a dog that came into a rescue called Satan. He was rehomed quite quickly after they changed his name to Stan!

puds11isNAUGHTYnotNAICE · 31/01/2013 16:50

Fanjo?

There is already a hullygully puppy.

DizzyHoneyBee · 31/01/2013 16:53

Call him "Yanbu" or "Aibu" :)

NorksAreMessy · 31/01/2013 16:54

HoneyDragon · 31/01/2013 16:54
