Plenty of people who look like nothing nature designed, reside in certain parts of Kent. I'm not keen on the look but each to their own.

I think you'll find this look exists in abundance all over the country.

There is a certain style that seems to have become ubiquitous: fake tan, straightened hair, overplucked eyebrows, fake eyelashes etc.

It isn't 'only clothes' though is it? Appearance is the first thing people notice about a person. The way someone presents himself/herself has a powerful influence on how he/she is perceived by others.

i suppose the same as i hate any 'look' i was never one for bubble perms or pixie boots, people all wearing the same things for the sake of fashion

the essex look does seem to me to be very high maintenance than usual though, lots of hours spent in spray tans salons and applying the fakeness

I am in Liverpool. I and my DD's do the scouse version of Towie when we go out. We like that look and won't be changing unless, we choose to.

The beauty about fake tan and eyelashes is that they can be toned down, or taken off.

I have to change the way that i dress to go to court, but i wouldn't go out wearing the same clothes, i don't get your point, tbh.
