As a 'look' I don't think it enhances young women's natural beauty; far from it. I find it looks very artificial. DD has a fair complexion and wavy/curly hair; both are beautiful in themselves and would not benefit from being covered in fake tan or straightened.

I think it's an ugly look, I choose not to do any of it.
I am more horrified by the people who attempt to make others feel bad about their choices and to set out what is and isn't an acceptable appearance.
Go ahead and be orange and glittery with spiked heels, or tattooed and pierced or goth or flowerchild hippy or twinset and pearls. I love diversity and tolerance for others' choices.
I'd truly hate to live in a uniform society.

as somebody cleverer than me pointed out on a thread yesterday we are not original we are tribal and people like to follow trends, even the "indie" kids they all look exactly the same

I live in Essex and don't know anyone who dresses like Towie.
We mostly wear UGGs and trainers. The older mums wear jeans and the young mums wear baggy joggers. We look tired and a bit frazzled. Except for the ones that don't .

Evenings are different - but I don't think Essex has ever had a monoploy on chilly girls with spidery eyelashes.

It's not a look I'd go for, and it's not necessarily flattering, but if it makes someone happy and isn't causing harm how the hell does it matter to anyone else?
