To wonder why Grace Dent is suddenly all over the place?

She really comes across as an unpleasant piece of work! Snide,smug, self absorbed to the point of narcissism and nowhere near as funny as she thinks she is. She is not Dorothy Parker, she is not even Catlin Moran.

So why in the name of suffering Jesus is she on every media network known to humankind? Radio 4 is usually a sanctuary from such nonsense... but she was on the other day. TWICE.

Not just you OP she is one of these media people who don't do anything, have nothing interesting to say, don't create anything but are all over the media wittering on as if we should care.

Tim Dowling and Bim Adewunmi in the weekend Guardian are the same- they have taken up a whole page between for what seems like decades and have never written anything remotely interesting.

I really like her Am surprised at the hatred here i would have though MN'ers would love her.

Dent or Moran? Can't stand either of them. Both unutterably self- important but actually quite dull.

I hadn't noticed this was a zombie thread. No wonder I didn't recognise the programme about Nancy Mitford. I listen to R4 all day, but have only been doing that for about 18 months.

Can't stand Grace Dent though, and hate her voiceover on The Untold. Hearing her voice is like listening to nails on a blackboard, it has the same effect.

Her book about twitter is excellent! I read it so many times!

And her BB reviews a few years ago. Hilarious.

Can't abide her. Irritated by her pontificating as a food critic "I'm almost totally vegan". Good for you but your readers aren't, get a different job then.

She isn’t snide and unpleasant.

She is funny and very complimentary where things are good. When things are shit, she says so. She’s a critic. It’s what they do FFS.

Can't abide the woman. Her reviews are pretentious. She always comes across sneery as fuck, and a bit pissed on Masterchef.
Thankfully those are the only two places I've noticed her, I intend to keep it that way.

Well I like her: wise, and witty - an entertaining restaurant critic and writer.

Sad, and regrettable that, she, like so many, is the object of other women's bitchiness! Really, do knock it off..!

Don't mind Grace Dent. Caitlyn Moran on the other hand urgh! She didn't come across well when she was on Saturday Kitchen.

O for pity's sake, foofoo, I'm not praising her work, woman or not, until I feel it merits praise. You know, like critics do.

Who is she apart from Arthur's sister? It's about time somebody replaced Caitlin Moran.
