To wonder who comprise MN Royalty these days?

For me first off I would say Hully, Pagwatch, Hecate, LaQ, Buppy, Usual and LOADS of others.

They will all decry the title, so I suppose what I mean is who are the regular regulars who you see about all the time?

OP posts:
CheCazzo · 23/01/2013 07:01

I don't much like these threads - they always seem like a chance to be all butt-sucky as if naming who you think is 'Royalty' will get you special dispensation with the nominees? Pfffft. Silly. Grin
And - since I'm on a roll now - why IS it always the same names on these things? Hully? Who? All I know about Hully is she comes on sometimes, shouts at everyone or posts something cryptic and buggers off again. There are posters who are here every day and always being helpful and wise. No names - I'm sure they know who they are.
And ............exactly what gimme said - if someone thinks they're anything special round here then by default they are NOT. Grin

HecateWhoopass · 23/01/2013 07:03

If you mean sad bastard who's here all the time when she really should be working, then yeah. Thats me Grin

These regular (and rather baffling) threads seem to show that for some people, no matter what environment you put them in, will try to establish a hierarchy. This seems to be true even when the hierarchy is mainly based on the amount of one's life one is prepared to piss away posting on a website forum!

The weird thing is I see this more on Mumsnet than any other forum I use, it's like an obsession here! I always thought it was the male of a species that was more into chest beating and pecking orders.

Bluegrass · 23/01/2013 07:25

Actually I suppose that the difference here is that there is less of the chest beating but more of a display of keening deference from people who want to tug their forelocks! Psychologists would have a field day.

HoneyDragon · 23/01/2013 07:28

You do no Hully isn't cryptic don't you? She's just quite mad. There's no secret code, she's usually just frothing Wink

Thumb. Being a bit crap doesn't make you Royalty. Either thee the sneered at kind or the vaguely loved elderly Aunt kind. It just makes you crap Grin

Incidentally

When did

a bit odd and how funny become so commonplace? It's another sneery little tweeism that's crept in.

NotADragonOfSoup · 23/01/2013 07:29

MN Royalty exists only in the minds of the insecure.

Chandon · 23/01/2013 07:39

MN royalty? but it is clear!

This is the lst copied from MNHQ:

Tempertantum123 is queenbee
blueberrytufty is runner up
plimsolsseasheelsbytheseaside is wannabe Queen
WalklikeaTrex thinks she is royalty but has been banned, haha
crocantedeville is countess of cool
Sadangrydad is the TonyBlair of MN

funnyinlagardin is number 1 on the waiting list to join, but one of the existing crew need to die/ get banned for life first.

Good luck OP! Should not be long now honey.

Zara1984 · 23/01/2013 07:47

If there were MN royalty like the Royal Family I'd probably be one of the semi-naked Vegas lassies cosying up to Prince Harry... oo'er, that is a nice thought

We're not in high school OP, don't be so silly.

Zara1984 · 23/01/2013 07:47

What NotADragon said...

TantrumsAndBalloons · 23/01/2013 07:51

I wonder how one becomes royalty?

Can I marry one of the "already royal" and become royal by default?

Chandon · 23/01/2013 07:57

Yes we should have on line marriage options!

Then I could be a MN royalty wag

catgirl1976 · 23/01/2013 07:58

Can I be a bridesmaid and the shoot to fame by way of everyone going on about my arse?

NorthernLurker · 23/01/2013 07:59

Nobody wants to be MN 'royalty'. It's used as an insult. Anybody think it's a compliment just hasn't 'got' that yet. None of the people named below deserve to be insulted. I suggest the OP cease and desist.

BIWI · 23/01/2013 08:03

1974? Year before I sat my O-levels. I was far too busy with boys and under-age drinking to worry about what went on the playgrounnd Wink

TantrumsAndBalloons · 23/01/2013 08:04

So......which mumsnetter would you marry? Grin

CheCazzo · 23/01/2013 08:06

1974 was a vintage year for boys and cider if I remember correctly. Smile

HoneyDragon · 23/01/2013 08:25

I'd marry soupy, save changing my surname. Then we'd adopt LRDDragon.

HoneyDragon · 23/01/2013 08:27

Well save debating whether I should change my surname Wink

NotADragonOfSoup · 23/01/2013 09:04

It would have to be an uncivil a civil partnership, surely?

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 23/01/2013 09:14

This reminds me of suckbutting patronage in the middle ages.

I never notice usernames. I was in stitches about a thread yesterday and enviously wished I had the balls to be as much as a cunt as the op and was told off for sucking up Confused

Yeah, whatever

CheCazzo · 23/01/2013 09:53

That's ridiculous Ariel. You should be able to say on a thread that you like what the OP is saying without that kind of nonsense. What really shouldn't happen is these kind of silly threads being all buttsucky towards people who are not even on the thread but presumably somewhere basking in the adoration. Too silly.

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 23/01/2013 09:59

The OP was on the thread. And jolly funny she was being too Grin I should add that it wasn't me individually who was told I was a suckbutt. It was all the posters who also found it funny. I'd seen the OP's name before of course, but that was no big deal.
