Parents fighting in school yard...

Yesterday we received a letter from the school stating that the incident was under control and appropriate action was beig took.

Apparently two mum had a full on fisty/hair pulling fight infront of the nursery/reception parents/children and the reception teacher had to break them up.

Thankfully ds didn't see it as we were running late but does any MN who are teachers know what the action would be...

According to people gossip these parents are constantly battling over their children, and is more than likely to happen again...

If my ds seen this he would be beside himself as he has serious trust issues and is still not m100% confident in shook.

My eldest is 18, when he was about 8 a parent walked into school and verbally abused staff in the middle of assembly. Iirc he was looking for a child his dd had fallen out with.

He was banned from school premises.

Enigmosaurus · 18/01/2013 10:21

The only parents I've seen have a scrap were considerate (ha!) enough do it outside the school gates so even though the police were called, school couldn't do anything about it. They'd been good friends before their fight.

A parent has been banned from the playground for racist and aggressive behaviour so I imagine fighting would lead to a ban at best and police involvement and possibly prosecution at worst.

Butterycrumble · 18/01/2013 10:24

After this problem in our playground both parents were banned. Extraordinary behaviour!

VivaLeBeaver · 18/01/2013 10:26

Another parent thumped my dd's best friend in the playground once and she was banned from the school.

One of the teachers and a TA had a fist fight in the dinner hall infront of the kids once. They weren't banned. Grin

MammaTJ · 18/01/2013 10:26

One mum at the school my DC go to kept attacking another. She was nuts!

She had to take her son through the reception area rather than through the playground.

AltinkumATEalltheTurkey · 18/01/2013 10:30

I doubt it either, I know who the parents are tbh, and it was two reception parents, but because reception and nursery are all one unit all the kids seen it.

I feel sorry for the school, they are their to educate our kids, not be supervising parents, I cannot see HT letting this off lightly either.

I am just Shock at some of these. If people are prepared to scrap over minor disagreements in a school playground WTF are they like when they go into a pub? Hmm Their poor kids.

When I was about 8 a mother marched into a lesson and punched and slapped my teacher (who was very nice) for telling of her son.

Honestly, when I am Prime Minister I shall implement a rigorous psychometric personality testing policy that everyone must undergo before they are allowed to breed.

I knew it was outside the reception entrance but wasn't sure who it was as i only do a few drop offs a wk so dont know many parents yet. They've only been in school a few months tho, how can things be so bad so quick? I don't understand it! My ds is in reception and he had no idea about the incident thankfully as I asked him some indirect questions last night and he didn't show any signs of knowing anything happened! Makes me wary tho for the future walks into school etc....hope it doesn't happen again if there's obviously ongoing issues.

FellatioNels0n · 18/01/2013 10:42

I did see an almost punch-up in our playground once, between two sisters. There had been a major family falling out, the families had not spoken for months and one of the sisters had given her children some Christmas presents to take into school to give their cousins. But when they came out of school their mother found them and marched up to her sister screaming and shouting and flung them back in her face. All hell broke loose. Shock It was very exciting and a bit scary. I don't think our school had ever seen anything like it!

Icantstopeatinglol · 18/01/2013 10:57

Altinkum, yea I'm wondering too ha! My ds is in reception in the new teachers class. Is your ds in reception too? Smile

elizaregina · 18/01/2013 11:02

wow - if they feel comfy doing this at school what are they like at home behind closed doors? Shock

Naysa · 18/01/2013 11:12

I love that two Mnetters have found each other Grin through this of all things Shock

The schools named after a worm?

Is anyone else wondering what the school is called? I'm thinking St. Wiggley C of E Primary School. Grin

DonderandBlitzen · 18/01/2013 11:27

^The school should have a code of conduct policy.

This is likely to include a section that says parents will be banned from the school grounds if they do this, that, the other. This will fit into one of the categories.^

I didn't realise this. I'm off to check to see if our school has this mentioned in a policy now. Grin

cheesesarnie · 18/01/2013 11:40

appalled at these stories!!!

the nearest dc school got to anything like this was the day the farmer from further up the lane damaged a parents car when they walked the cows past to be milked and shouted that the cows had as much right to be on the road as the parents doing pick ups! Grin.

cheesesarnie · 18/01/2013 11:40

ps i think the schools called the wiggly school of woo. adress is at the bottom of the garden.

freddiefrog · 18/01/2013 11:49

We had a punch up in our school playground last year - 2 mums going hammer and tongs over the local casanova. It started as a slanging match and ended up with them being pulled apart by the school care-taker and another dad and the police being called

Both mums were banned from the playground.

Is the school actually named after a worm? I thought it was another autocorrect Grin

They'll probably be banned from the playground for a while or have to take their DCs in through reception. Poor kids.

ThreeBeeOneGee · 18/01/2013 12:06

Schlock · 18/01/2013 12:10

Hmm, NE city, worm... It would have to be something to do with lampton?

DonderandBlitzen · 18/01/2013 12:11

But the other poster knew instantly that they were talking about the same school after the OP wrote "The schools named after a worm."

valiumredhead · 18/01/2013 12:13

At my ds's school the police would be called and a future ban from the playground.

elizaregina · 18/01/2013 12:14

I had a minor problem with DD and her friend - I am just triyng to imagine myself and her mother ( boden wearing) getting into a full on physical row about it!!! Grin
