David is speaking well in the Commons and making his sibling look really inadequate.

I thought they chose him because he was the more 'old Labour' of the two and a more natural opposition to the conservatives. After all the years of there not being much difference between the parties, they hoped that his Old Labour leanings and ideology would bring back the old labour voters.

What Catgirl said. I like Ed but he has too much of the Wallace and Gromit about him to be a credible opponent to Camoron. I also rate Chuka Umunna and Andy Burnham. Frank Field was one of the best W&P Ministers we ever had but at 70 I think he's a bit old perhaps now.

And I very rarely read the Mail but it did hearten me to read the article about Camoron's ambitions to be PM until 2020 after it was tweeted and to see that 95% of the reader comments - usually Tory voters saying down with the poor, sack all the lazy public sector workers etc - saying "in your dreams matey, I'm never voting Conservative again."

YANBU at all, although I think one of Yvette Cooper or the excellent Stella Creasy should be in charge.

HenryCrun · 08/01/2013 23:29

Or Chuka Umunna, who I like a lot. Also, Gavin Shuker is a genuinely nice guy who works very hard (he is also very religious, which some people might not like).

The two Eds in leadership positions, what a gift to the Tories.

redexpat · 09/01/2013 08:46

He just doesn't have the voice of a PM does he? But won because of the trade union vote.

Vagaceratops · 09/01/2013 10:12

I like Stella Creasy too - she would get my vote.

Nha. I can't stand this assumption that David would have been better. He was a bland version of Blair. Yuck.
