David is speaking well in the Commons and making his sibling look really inadequate.

....and he looks like Frank

EnjoyResponsibly · 08/01/2013 21:00

Owl thank you, I spat my tea over my iPad then.

notnagging · 08/01/2013 21:10

Yabnu

catgirl1976 · 08/01/2013 21:10

DH thinks it was deliberate as they knew they wouldn't win so didn't want to waste David. They used Ed as he is useless and it made no different and will roll out David when they have a chance of winning

girliefriend · 08/01/2013 21:11

yanbu at all - his brother is much better looking!! Grin

2013go · 08/01/2013 21:12

YABU, Ed will do fine
But the country DEFINITELY chose the wrong government.

AgentProvocateur · 08/01/2013 21:13

I am a great admirer of David Milliband, and a natural labour voter for the UK parliament. As it is, I'd not know who to vote for if there was an election tomorrow.

HollyBerryBush · 08/01/2013 21:14

The only decent honest Labout leader in my life time was John Smith (RIP).

They lost an honest man there.

Hassled · 08/01/2013 21:15

Yes, John Smith was a good man.

I don't think they picked the wrong Miliband, I think they picked the wrong Ed - it should have been Balls.

Vagaceratops · 08/01/2013 21:19

It should definitely not have been Balls. He comes across as a bully.

I like Andy Burnham, or would definitely have voted had Alan Johnson stood for election.

Dawndonna · 08/01/2013 21:21

I like Harriet Harman. She'd be bloody good.

EnjoyResponsibly · 08/01/2013 21:23

Ed Balls? You have yo be kidding or is that Yvette?

I reckon you missed a trick losing Alan Johnson.

I'm a died in the wool smug fucking cunt Tory voter, but Alan Johnson seemed to me a good man with good ideas.

Hassled · 08/01/2013 21:25

I realise Balls seems to provoke strong reactions and I can understand why people see a bully - but in person he's charming, affable and most of all he's competent in identifying Coalition weaknesses and going after them. Cameron and Osbourne clearly hate him with a passion they just don't have when it comes to Ed Miliband - I don't think they see EdM as a viable threat.

I sort of wish Yvette Cooper had stood - she's very impressive too.

MrsRandom78 · 08/01/2013 21:28

Always makes me think of Millhouse from The Simpsons. Not really what you want in a potential PM!

FreudiansSlipper · 08/01/2013 21:32

I agree and labour are not going to win the next election :(

still paves the way for new someone new I think it may even be Chuka Umunna or he will be soon, maybe not the next leader (think it may be Ed Balls) but he will be leader of the Labour party one day and pm

Hassled · 08/01/2013 21:36

Oh yes, Chuka Umunna's star is going to rise. And my god is he beautiful .

FreudiansSlipper · 08/01/2013 21:39

oh I never noticed :o

RedToothbrush · 08/01/2013 21:47

I've got a lot of time for Andy Burnham as it goes. The problem is he's a northerner...

Ed Balls as leader... shudders

JustGiveMeFiveMinutes · 08/01/2013 21:49

The problem is he's a northerner...

Nice Hmm

amothersplaceisinthewrong · 08/01/2013 21:50

David will be back.... (Milliband that is, hopefully Camelegg will be banished to Outer Mongolia.

RedToothbrush · 08/01/2013 21:51

Actually, I'm a northerner.

My point is, he didn't have a chance of the leadership because of that.

sweetkitty · 08/01/2013 21:51

I liked Harriet Harmann too

JustGiveMeFiveMinutes · 08/01/2013 21:52

Lots of Labour leaders have been Northerners. I don't see your point.

Hassled · 08/01/2013 21:54

Burnham didn't have a chance at the leadership not because he's a Northerner but because his only real experience is in Health. At the hustings and various Labour events in the election build-up all he could really talk about with any authority was Health. He comes across as a nice guy and he's certainly very strong on Health, but he was a bit of a one-topic-man. The Milibands and EdB, and even Diane Abbot had more authority on a wider range of issues.

RedToothbrush · 08/01/2013 21:56

Then don't. But in the leadership election it was commented on, as counting against him, to gain Labour reelection. I do actually believe that was part of the case.
