Guess when I worked out this was a Zombie. :(

MiltopMighty · 21/04/2017 10:06

Ha! Took me about 5 minutes of reading...

Funny.

Firesuit · 21/04/2017 10:07

The trouble with the Mumsnet Zombie thread warning is that you only see it before posting, after you've spent half-an-hour reading to the end.

Perhaps they could allow us to define a Zombie thread colour scheme that differs from our normal one, so it's immediately obvious that a thread is old. Or, even simpler, always display individual post dates in red, if they are "old".

I revived the cousin/takeaway thread a few months ago. It had been linked on here, and I posted something like "I wonder if this ever got resolved?" or something.

Also, how long is "too long"? Where do you draw the line?

RachelRagged · 21/04/2017 10:49

Found myself on one the other day , , a local mumsnet though.
Somebody else had posted so I joined in (giving advise really on schools) and then noticed it was a zombie one .. Didn't matter though as the poster asking of schools had put her post on the same day.

I remember reading one long long saga and wondering of the outcome but it was posted 2 years ago I noted.

I don't think people should post on a zombie thread, ever
Are they brain dead or summat?

It doesn't bother me, in fact I've come across some interesting threads that have been revived! Nor does it bother me if people start a thread on something that's already been covered In a previous thread (which I imagine applies to most topics and one of the things I love about MN is that it is a busy forum with lots of threads).

Motoko · 24/08/2019 17:02

How did you get caught out again @0ne? The post immediately before yours, is dated November '17., so it was you who bumped the thread.

0ne · 24/08/2019 17:14

I was caught out twice before this time but was under a previous name on this thread. Was looking for something else entirely when I saw this thread again and couldn't resist seeing if anyone else would get caught out!
