My father has decided that as a joined birthday presents for DS and DD he would pay for a family hoilday inbetween birthdays ( which are 3 weeks apart). All great no problems there.

but aibu to dismiss a caravan hoilday. I have no problems with caravan hoildays i have been a really enoyed it preDC, but the weather atm i am thinking it would be a wash out with heavy rain

Why would the weather 'atm' affect your holiday in 5 month's time?

CoolaYuleA · 03/01/2013 22:14

YABU - we use our caravan all year round and always have a great time, even in rain and snow.

We first took DD when she was 9 months old and it rained quite a lot, but it didn't stop us doing anything.... Rule of caravanning - there is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing. Get some rainsuits and wellies just in case and enjoy!

ChaoticintheNewYear · 03/01/2013 22:15

What are your alternatives?

ebersneezer · 03/01/2013 22:16

What do you mean by caravan?

A small personal caravan, driven to a farmers field, no facilities and you're left. Or a mobile home on a site, in a nice location, with lots of facilities?

yfuwchhapus · 03/01/2013 22:16

I seriously wouldn't bother going there! Live near-ish...been there once and the place is awful!

Why would the weather now have any bearing on a holiday in June?!

ILoveTIFFANY · 03/01/2013 22:16

It's rain... You and your children wont dissolve!

June could be dry

Where do you expect him to send you then?

McNewPants2013 · 03/01/2013 22:16

the news is scaring me about the climate changes.

You wouldn't get me anywhere near kiln park.

But that aside yabu, caravan holidays are great!

Ah right, you need to ask then! If its an on site caravan I would assume this to be a mobile home, they can be very nice.

pictish · 03/01/2013 22:19

You are moaning about getting a free holiday because it might rain?

Mmm...okay then.

littlewhitebag · 03/01/2013 22:20

I used to have a static caravan on a site in sunny rainy Scotland. I loved it and the weather was never a problem. I found large quantities of alcohol made everything bearable and fun. Enjoy.

ebersneezer · 03/01/2013 22:20

Sorry, I'm lagging behind the posts!

TuftyFinch · 03/01/2013 22:21

The climate changes are certainly scary. I think you'll be ok for a week in Tenby though.
Wales is nice.

SantasENormaSnob · 03/01/2013 22:22
