How can these children's mother think this is an acceptable way to behave

I was driving out of a supermarket car park today and ahead of me a woman was reversing out of her space. She was quite a long way ahead of me so I continued driving mega slowly so she had time to get out and then stopped leaving stacks of room for her to finish reversing as she hadn't vacated the space by the time I got closer. She had a girl in the front of the car and a boy in the back, both of whom were shouting goodness knows what at me and making the Loser sign when I had done absolutely nothing wrong. As I followed them out of the car park the boy kept turning round to do the Loser thing. How can that woman allow/ encourage this kind of behaviour?

Did she know? How old were the kids?

She definately knew as she was looking out of the windows closest me while she reversed, which is where the kids were. The girl was about 12 and the boy about 10.

It's probably because she is a massive twat herself. Don't give it any more thought.

Love it ProvincialLady, it just really annoyed me. I obviously hadn't seen the sign that said every other car must remain stationary whilst she moved hers.

YABU the woman was driving and thank goodness she was paying full attention to driving the car and not to what her passengers were doing.

Ivykaty, she couldn't have missed them as they were practically standing up in the car to do it so were actually blocking her view so she wasn't being a responsible driver either

It might not have been about your car. The kids might just have some severe behaviour issues. Some kids at DSs school have had awful awful upbringings and stick their fingers up at me in the taxi queue every morning just ignore them you did nothing wrong

Just view, I really wasn't close at all, she had at another 2 cars length in excess of what she needed. It was was a busy supermarket car park so she couldn't have had expected the place to herself.

Even if you were too close it isn't good behaviour is it? But she could have been telling them to stop I suppose. She could be a foster parent or something (a lot of my friends take on children with severely challenging behaviour through no fault of their own) try not to over think it. It wasn't you.

In fact when did I once utter the word SN??? The closest I said was 'severely challenging behaviour' which, as you said in your post to me, doesn't imply SN. I think you need to actually read properly.

I'd be more bothered that they weren't adequately strapped in/wearing seat belts. It is bad enough to allow your children to be abusive to strangers, but even worse to let them endanger their lives.

She was driving. Her children were messing around doing something that small children find funny. Forget about it!

Seriously Everlong, do you really think that all cars in a busy car park should stop whenever someone else wants to move their car? I left her stacks of room an, even if I hadn't, it doesn't excuse the children's behaviour does it?
