I cannot stand the wet leggings look. It really should only be worn by tall and thin people.

Also knee/thigh high boots.

And crop tops.

And shorts with your bum cheeks hanging out.

Definitely each to their own

(As I'm guilty of wearing uggs (definitely function over fashion), chelsea boots and I love my Barbour coat, which I know a majority of people hate)

so what fashion do you hate?

OP posts:
LilyVonSchtupp · 01/01/2013 19:23

Well I love all the things In Need loves apart from Uggs and the handbag thingy and I'm 39 next week. Grin

A couple of years ago I got on in argument on these pages (under one of my previous names) about still wearing mini-skirts after 35. Apparently it is Unacceptable. I am still wearing minis and if anything they have got shorter. Grin

I hate:
Big logos of anything 'designer' or designer
Black bras under white tops / vice versa
Those hideous boot crossed with peep-toe sandal abominations that everyone has worn in summers 2011 / 2012.
Cropped trousers
Trainer mules
Those horribly shiny plasticky nude heels beloved of Middleton.
Most shoes lately - you think you're seeing a lovely heel but then you pick it up and discover it's got a vile wedgy type heel or thick sole.
Peplums YY

Alisvolatpropiis · 01/01/2013 19:29

Baubles I think you and I would get on!

It was I who mentioned red shoes, but only because I was surprised they hadn't yet been deemed "tacky" along with my other great love, leopard print.

BaublesAndCuntingCarolSingers · 01/01/2013 19:37
Wink
countrykitten · 01/01/2013 19:37

Yes those Middleton nude heels are not very nice are they?

MurderOfGoths · 01/01/2013 19:47

Hate
Shorts that expose arsecheeks
Wet look/busy patterned leggings
Uggs
Peep toe boots
Sequins
Christmas jumpers (wtf is all that about?!)
Ballet pumps
Flip flops
Quilted coats
Onesies
Bloody t-shirts with "celebrities" on them
Tops with animal faces on
Burberry
Fake tan
Jokey slogan tshirts
Anything beige
Blue denim

Love that others hate
Peplums, but only if worn like one of these
Platform shoes
Animal print
Playsuits (like this)
Tattoos
Anything with skulls on
The eyeliner flick, I mean how can you argue with this or this?
Hooker shoes - and I find them easy to walk in
Studded clothes
Red shoes (actually I need some to match my red leather gloves)
3/4 length sleeves - how else am I going to show off my wrist tattoos (see, multitasking)
Unnatural hair colours

Have to add, I'd totally wear mini skirts/bodycon dresses/skinny fit trousers if I was slimmer. As it is they just show up all the bits I'd rather hide. Oh and I love cropped trousers, but I'm 4ft 10, cropped trousers are always full length on me.

Thank god I don't give a fuck what others think. Grin

InNeedOfBrandy · 01/01/2013 19:54

My grandma told me I wasn't allowed a mini skirted batty rider shorts now I'm a mum Grin I team em with heals and hair up to show off my large neck tattoo.

I wouldn't have my actual arse cheeks out though I'm not that brazen. remembers being a teen and walking round in batty rider shorts and a bikini in the street

I also like a spray tan in summer, the eyeliner flick, glittery stuff and am partial to the odd gold sequin top.

MissBeehivingUnderTheMistletoe · 01/01/2013 19:57

I love peplums Grin

Wrap tops and dresses
Tunics and leggings
Anything pink
Printed leggings
Logo t shirts
Status bags
Fake fur coats
Visible underwear

VerySmallSqueak · 01/01/2013 20:02

Miss I really don't like wrap dresses and tops. They say they are universally flattering but I am an exception to that rule. My belly looks bigger and there is way too much boobage exposed.

Fake fur coats are beautiful.I have a leopard print one which my DH bans me from wearing (therefore is brought out at every possible opportunity in an act of sheer defiance Grin )

digerd · 01/01/2013 20:05

I have always liked peplums, as made my hips look to have some curve and made my wasp waist look even tinier. No longer wasp, more like beatle< grrr>

MissBeehivingUnderTheMistletoe · 01/01/2013 20:05

yy on wrap dresses - they're meant to be flattering but just aren't Sad

I'm happy to believe your fake fur is lush - I was recently traumatised by some "Planet of the Apes Gets A Blowdry" ones in Topshop, forgive me Grin

VerySmallSqueak · 01/01/2013 20:14

Mine are what would now be described as vintage Miss

(ie one was found in a pile of rubbish about 12 years ago and one bought in a charity shop a few years before)

They are things of beauty Grin

Utterlylostandneedtogo · 01/01/2013 20:14

I love leggings, but I'm one of those people who wears them as tights under dresses with long boots.

I love ballet pumps, but I'm flat footed and they're the only thing that's comfy and pretty, I have some fab ones from iron fist.

I hate; French manicures, fake fans, highlights and hair bleach, ugg boots, animal prints, back combing, Paul's boutique, poor fitting clothes - look in the mirror! Anyone over 35 wearing h&m fashion....

MmeGuillotine · 01/01/2013 20:27

I'm a goth with silly coloured hair and get most of my clothes from All Saints with a bit of Viv of Holloway thrown in and you'll wrest my Doc Marten Triumphs and stripper heels (which I can walk in) from my cold dead hands so I expect I am a walking fashion faux pas to most of you especially as I'm in my late thirties. ;)

My pet hates are peplums, Chelsea boots and those stupid little pockets on the front of otherwise acceptable dresses and tops. WHAT ARE THEY FOR?!

LesserOfTwoWeevils · 01/01/2013 20:37

Hate mullet skirts,
anything asymmetrical,
skinny jeans on anyone over size 8,
peeptoe boots,
extreme platforms.
Studded shoes!!!!
This season's ubiquitous lace.
Sheer polyester.
Anything neon
White leggings
Sequinned things
Those loud tacky "scarf prints" from last year

Love peplums! Perfect for showing off a small waist or making you look as if you have one.
And I bought myself some red heels as a New Year present yesterday.

PickledInAPearTree · 01/01/2013 20:45

That funny shop you see in Spain.

DeSuignal?

Looks like mad ferrets have got into the shop and ripped up all the clothes.

cocolepew · 01/01/2013 20:50

I have just got a pair of leopard print heels and a see through leopard print blouse/top from Wallis. I look like Kat from
EE lovely.

TheCatIsEatingIt · 01/01/2013 21:10

French-manicured toenails
Half-mast trousers
Playsuits and onesies
One-shouldered tops/dresses
And, of course, (sorry BIL) double denim.

AuroraRedRose · 01/01/2013 21:10

My mum used to say

"A woman that wears red shoes is a woman that doesn't wear knickers"

Are all you red shoe wearing ladies knickerless too? Wink

MrsNPattz · 01/01/2013 21:16

Oh dear, I wear Uggs with my skinny jeans and a Paul's Boutique Biker jacket Blush

I can't think of anything I really hate as everybody is so different - there are loads of things I wouldn't wear but someone else could get away with.

VerySmallSqueak · 01/01/2013 21:18

My DH was brought up with the saying

"Red shoes,no drawers".

I was always told

"Red hat,no drawers".

Which is it? Or both?

Shock
AnnaRack · 01/01/2013 21:23

Agree with most of the earlier posts.
Dont agree about peplums though, they are great if you havent got any hips and want to look more curvaceous. And quite glamorous in a vintagey kind of way - think 1940s or 1980s.

wongadotmom · 01/01/2013 21:26

Collagen lip fillers

Specialbrew · 01/01/2013 21:38

Summer maxi dresses. They look cheap and awful on EVERYONE. They make arses look huge, and most women look pregnant. I am already dreading the arrival of summer!

BaublesAndCuntingCarolSingers · 01/01/2013 21:51

Goths, you have ed excellent taste!

LilyVonSchtupp · 01/01/2013 21:54

Totally agree about maxi dresses. This was supposed to be a one season abomination but seems to have become a perennial. I just think they are for people too lazy to shave their legs!
