You crowd of fecking bah-humbuggers.

If you kept Christmas for December and put your decorations up at a reasonable time you would still be enjoying it now.

Instead of moaning and groaning.

Idiots.

I did (a week before Christmas) and I am (until it's officially over on the 6th)!

I didn't even buy presents too early. :)

DS and I are now working through the chocolate tree decorations. We may finish them before the 6th, but I could always try the sales. Grin
Oh and finishing off all the food.

SlubbersRingAreYouListening · 28/12/2012 13:28

Er, mm

Mary, as much as I am in your camp, your camp of lovely fresh non dropping Christmas tree and wholesome joy at the twinkling lights that is still occurring on the 3rd day of Christmas, Christmas finishes on the 5th of Jan.

12th night is on the 5th of jan as this delightful link reveals with a sprig of holly.

Good tidings to you etc but if they're still up on the 6th you will be TOTES SMOTES DOWN and in order to prevent the terrible smoting you have to keep them up all year, which you would probably not enjoy.

That was a totally genuine Xmas Smile because of The Christmas tidings of joy with which I am full of because it is still Chrismas. Xmas Smile

FunnysFuckingFreezing · 28/12/2012 13:33

thank god for that Slubbers Every year I agonise about the date of 12th night. I put the 5th earlier and then noticed everyone else had the 6th and started worrying all over again. It's 20 and 13 next year which is bad enough without certain death added into the mix

FunnysFuckingFreezing · 28/12/2012 13:34

oops 2013 without the randon 'and'. That is not some new fangled way to say the year

FunnysFuckingFreezing · 28/12/2012 13:35

thing is usual if I bought stuff in advance I would just forget where it was by next Christmas.

Tee2072Thing · 28/12/2012 13:36

Sounded very Victorian, FFF.

Like saying 'It's 7 and 30 o'clock' or something.

actually Tee I quite like it and may start using it

Sidge · 28/12/2012 13:40

I was at work yesterday, I'm at work for 10 hours today and then tomorrow I'm off on holiday for a week so my house won't be de-Christmassed until at least the 6th!

Fuck it, I'll be by the pool in Palm Beach and won't give a shite that there are needles all over my carpet and the cards are sagging on a string Xmas Grin

FunnysFuckingFreezing · 28/12/2012 13:41

see usual at least the mice are still being festive in your household, at least someone is still feeling the spirit of Christmas

FreeButtonChristmasTree · 28/12/2012 14:04

I am onthesofaeating quality street watching a bad film. It's still Christmas chez FBB. And I don't have the NYD back to work fear this year as I am now on ML!!! Yay!

Pascha · 28/12/2012 14:08

Oh I like that Tee. I see you as Thing now Grin!

jamdonut · 28/12/2012 14:11

Only read a bit of this thread, and agree with the " putting decorations up too early" thing...but in response to something at the earlier part of this thread....Who on earth dusts their decorations???!!! Even if you put them up in October, that's not long enough for anything to get so dusty that they need actually dusting! Shock

ItsaTIARA · 28/12/2012 14:17

Mate of mine left her Diwali lights up for Christmas - excellent labour saving device.

cardibach · 28/12/2012 14:18

I am with you MaryZ and have been all along. I have said as much on a thread in chat. They all kept saying it would be fine and they wouldn't be sick of them too early when we were wisely telling them not to put them up on Dec 1st, and now look! Trees down before New Year! Madness.

peaceandlovebunny · 28/12/2012 14:20

shall i tell you a secret?

i didn't put up any decorations at all.

and i haven't missed them. not one bit.
