So I'm 45. DS 9, DD 6. DH and I found out on Christmas Day that I am pregnant, due late June. I am totally crapping myself now, DH is like a dog with two tails and I will admit that I am excited but after 2 years of trying for DC 3 we kind of gave up 3 years ago and accepted it wouldn't happen and now I am quite shocked. I am really happy, I think. I guess I'm just worred about how this will affect all of us really. So there you go.

Yay! At least you don't have that "oh god, I've got to wait 3 weeks for my scan to tell people, it's so hard to keep it quiet!" thing!!!

How wonderful! X

violetwellies · 27/12/2012 15:18

(Bluddy phone) at 45 am still stunned 2 years later Congratulations

FreeButtonChristmasTree · 27/12/2012 15:21

Oh congratulations!! How exciting and amazing. Hope you keep feeling well and do take some time to come to terms with the news. Even though I'd been trying for 18 months for my first, I was still a bit devastated to find out I was actually PG!

Damash12 · 27/12/2012 15:24

Ahh what a fantastic Xmas pressie for you all! I'm 41 and 35 weeks pregnant and absolutely terrified. Don't know why, we'll be fine but it's the unknown and how it will change everything but who cares we already know the fantastic joy and pleasure we get from Ds age 4. And according to the midwife the 40's are the new 30's for pregnant ladies. Good luck Hun and have a fantastic 2013

redwellybluewelly · 27/12/2012 15:33

Congratulations!

I found out at 9 weeks and at 16 have yet to tell family or friends

Nancy66 · 27/12/2012 15:44

our bodies sometimes experience a fertility surge before they wind down - which is why there's quite a few mid-life surprise babies. or 'gate closers' as they sometimes referred to!

In a lot of big, Irish Catholic families of my grandmother's generation you'll find the mother often has children aged: 25,23,21,19,17, 15, 13, 11 and 2 !

anyhow - congratulations Thanks

Booblesonthetree · 27/12/2012 15:45

Congratulations! DH was exactly the same when we found out we were expecting our third, I started to call him supersperm becasue he was strutting around so much!
The shock will wear off soon x
