To expect people to fully read an original post before responding

I've noticed that someone will write a detailed post, but when people respond, they ask a question that is answered in the original post.

For example:

OP: He had his phone switched off, so I tried emailing him instead
New poster:Why didn't you just phone him?

I understand when there are pages and pages of threads that something may get missed, but how can you say someone is bring unreasonable if you haven't read the original post properly?

I have made a complete and utter twat of myself with some of my responses because I didn't read the OP properly. Had to profusely apologise.

you are unreasonable to have any expectations at all. this is a message board. people will use it as they wish.
