Right, getting together a basket of everything I will need on Xmas morning

Scissors
Wire cutters
Various screwdrivers
Batteries in as many shapes and sizes as I can find
Bin bag
Recycling bags
Camera
Notebook and pen to write down who gave what
Wine in the fridge!

Anyone think of anything else?

I have nothing to add to your list except I hope I'm as organised as you one day Grin
Merry Christmas!

AgentZigzagHasABigYuleLog · 24/12/2012 02:42

C'mon Pets, it's the morning.

At least add some mixers to the list Wink

tots2ten · 24/12/2012 02:54

paracetamol Grin

OkayHazel · 24/12/2012 04:55

A notebook to write down who gave what? Christmas with you sounds like a military operation.
Calm down.

Softlysoftly · 24/12/2012 05:03

Presents? If my child doesn't go to sleep we won't be having any. Will you come to mine?

cheekybaubles · 24/12/2012 05:03

You will be needing bolt cutters judging by the efforts I have made this week to get dds birthday presents open. And plasters.
Merry Christmas

Fakebook · 24/12/2012 05:12

Plasters and some savlon. Someone always ends up getting cut or burned.

Chottie · 24/12/2012 05:53

The notebook is to write down who gave what to who. It makes writing thank you letters so much easier.

cupcake78 · 24/12/2012 06:11

Coffee machine prepared and on timer the night before!

katkit1 · 24/12/2012 07:24

Xmas Grin agent

buggyRunner · 24/12/2012 07:49

parachute? For rapid escape? Ear plugs?

Yama · 24/12/2012 07:54

Good list Jojane.

I'll be leaving out cafetierre next to kettle to make strong coffee quick smart. Little tykes will have us up at 5am.

jojane · 24/12/2012 09:25

Note book is so I can write nice thank you notes referring to the preset rather than a generic thank you for my present note

Paracetamol/calpol/insert fractious child medicine & personal headache cure here
Indigestion tablets
Second pen - you just KNOW the first one will stop working if you don't have a spare to hand!

OhlimpPricks · 24/12/2012 09:44

Don't forget a tin opener, to get into those sealed rigid plastic cases that a lot of toys and small gadgets come wrapped in!

jojane · 24/12/2012 10:00

Ohlimppricks that is genius!

MumOfTwoCats · 24/12/2012 10:05

We tend to remove all plastic ties and put batteries before the presents are wrapped. the kids get so excited then they can play straight away!

Doesn't help if you have already wrapped or with gifts from others!

fishandlilacs · 24/12/2012 11:03

It took me and DH about an hour to get bloody Buzz lightyear out of his packaging last year.

I have never even considered having a survival kit for xmas morning. I shall make that my mission today!

DameFannyGallopsBEHINDyou · 24/12/2012 11:07

Wet wipes. No emergency kit is complete without them.

Rosa · 24/12/2012 11:09

Alcohol ( any kind) in a throat spray to take to MIL's ...( hip flask is a bit too rude)
Make sure the camera is charged, spare video tapes for the camera.

McChristmasPants2012 · 24/12/2012 11:24

sounds a good idea.

5Foot5 · 24/12/2012 11:33

I once came across a tip for being cool and calm at Christmas Dinner - even though you had just cooked it. Basically you stick a nice clean blouse in the freezer about half an hour before the meal will be ready and then at the last minute you slip in to this and are oh so cool.

I did try it but unfortunately left it a bit long so would have had to beat the blouse with something to make it bend enough for me to wear it

HairyGrotter · 24/12/2012 11:51

Wow, you lot are well organised. I just have a bottle of JD, coke, and hope for the best!
