To think Chris Brown didn't simply make one mistake

I told a friend I was shocked that Rihanna had done a duet with Chris Brown.

She said she felt he'd been given an unfairly hard time.

I told her I'd seen stats saying a lot of young people think Rihanna must have "deserved" it and I think it's not only acceptable, but absolutely vital, for the media to keep being negative about a man who violently assaulted his girlfriend.

She said she thought he'd been subjected to trial by media and should be given another chance after he "just made one mistake".

Seriously, what? AIBU to think she is completely wrong?

YANBU

And it's true that violence breeds violence because I want to put my fist through the screen whenever I see his ugly little rat face on the television.

Batman the report is on lots of sites, including on MTV news, as the police report - i.e. it is the real thing.

Totally agree.

Had this convo new year's eve with our dear friends in their 40s who thought it was water under the bridge and only they knew what went on! Wtf?!!!!

People just don't understand DV, it is never 'just one mistake'. There is always a build up of aggression/threats.

Also you can't 'provoke' a non violent man into hitting you.

Slainte, Lovecat, brady, Catching - Chris Brown's tattoo looks like a woman's face beaten on one side, and looks like Rihanna.

Just because he / his tattooist / his publicist say it isn't, and just because the design is based on a MAC make up design, doesn't stop what it looks like.

Incidentally the MAC design of a stitched skeletal face is not dissimilar, it just doesn't have the horrific connotations until it is on Chris Brown's neck.

Absolutely splash, I am unconvinced that it's anything other than Rihanna's beaten face, but my point was his argument that it's a mac model is rubbish as even if that was the case then surely he'd realise before getting it that it would obviously be misinterpreted as Rihanna's face.
