Toddlers shouldn't be in Asda at 12:45am?!

Due to a DH accidentally damaging part of a family members Christmas present I had to nip out to Asda past midnight and I was pretty shocked to see two different women with toddlers doing a huge shop.

Now I realise that due to shift work this might be the only time the parent has to go shop but these weren't babies asleep in buggies in PJs or a sleep suit these were very awake bubs. All local accents, etc so not jet lagged kids I'd assume.

AIBU??

Oh madness of course! Toddlers shouldn't be roaming shops at 12 midnight. They'll always be loads of folk on here who will say live and let live to all types of stupid behaviour and make up random scenarios to fit the situation. All crap imo.

True I didn't pipe up! I asked a forum full of mums instead. Sounds like there are loads of normal reasons a child would be out at that time of night.

I would have. My one year old has had a stinking cold for a while now so his sleep habits are completely shot. He was still awake at 1am yesterday while I was desperately trying to make him sleep.

Had I needed anything I might have been tempted to go at that time of the morning. Prolly not though as I'd have to walk there and back!

With it being xmas eve there's every chance this isn't routine? Eg visitng relatives and getting back late and child had slept on the journey home.

Yanbu to have done a double take - most people would I reckon - I would also wonder what reasons - not in a judging way more of a musing. But I often wonder about people - it's like a fun game to pass a shopping/train tripp imagining what people you see are doing, who they are etc.
