I mean the bloody shops are only shut for 24 hours these days? Why all the panic?

I'm so glad i'm no longer part of the madness that is a UK Christmas.

It is not compulsory! Buy, eat what you like. if you dont like it, don't do it.

Make your own traditions, rather than join in the craziness.

I worked once in the booze department of Morrisons at xmas/new year, it was frigging hellish. I would be bringing out pallets of booze and people would just take them from the pallet before I even put them on the shelf.

I was expected to maintain stock on the whole section by myself,in the face of millions of shoppers Hmm.

I think I gave up and went home on NYE, twas a frigging nightmare.

Lol about six years ago in my local ASDA (i work in a chemist) me and one of my regular customers were watching a couple of ladies fighting over the turkeys! Grown women arguing!!!! Now in November we always say " it won't be long before they're arguing over the turkeys"...it's become a bit of a traditional saying!

I usually shop daily during term time, as the supermarket is literally across the road from the Primary school.

During school holidays, as I live a bus ride away, and won't BE on the non existent buses, I have no choice but to shop weekly. With extra thrown in for Christmas dinner and a Boxing Day buffet for 11.

So I'm hardly surprised that the shops look like Armageddon.

remember that all the people going away for xmas won't be in the shops. My only trip will be out to Waitrose tomorrow afternoon (when hopefully the mayhem has calmed down) to get some wine and fizz to accompany my parent's Christmas Eve. That's it.

My mother on teh pther hand may well be doing a two trolleys job for the 14 people on Christmas day and 19 people on boxing day.

went to Costco then Waitrose which had a civilised queuing system so that no one could queue jump. This was to get a few more bits (£45). did a Tesco shop yesterday.

I think it is because there is so much time before Tuesday and then people don't want to be doing it on Monday. Probably be dead by then as everyone may think in the same way. Perhaps it is better to go out later in the day?
