So in Boots earlier with my DD in her pram. At the till and the lady while scanning my good was peering at my pram.
She smiles and starts saying "oh what a beautiful..."
My chest starts to puff up, little smile on my face...
She finishes "colour pram"

PRAM? Colour fucking pram?? What about my PFB in the pram? Hey? HEY??

(Lighthearted incase anyone starts a PFB rant and I walked away giggling to myself)

Somebody said that to me once. I didn't really think about, probably too tired, but my mum was a bit upset, that her beautiful first born grandson had been ignored, and the pram had been complimented.

GreatUncleEddie · 19/12/2012 21:19

I went to see a friend with my PFB, who was only a week old so frankly I was doing well to go to her, not have her come to me. Her first words were - what a lovely car seat. I did reply - never mind the car seat, what about the baby Grin

To HAVE been offended!

IShallCallYouSquishy · 19/12/2012 22:08

I just found it funny that she thought to compliment a pram! I like the idea of the compliment/insult game that a PP said. Sounds like something I'd do Grin

It's ok DD, I think you're beautiful Wink

You have every right to pull a teacher up on basic grammar but you are NOT the OP's teacher, this is not school, she is not your pupil and it's rude to pick apart a harmless post.

It might not be laziness, it might be that a person genuinely doesn't know the difference. In any case it's not your place to educate the OP especially as that was the only contribution to the thread.

Go and see the head teacher if your children are genuinely being taught the examples you have given.

lilackaty · 20/12/2012 16:27

Leonie, you realise that you failed to capitalise the first words of each of your sentences? That, to me, is a far worse sin than confusion between of & have.
That really made me smile OP! How did you respond? Or were you too taken aback?

valiumredhead · 20/12/2012 16:28

Capitails! Wink

IShallCallYouSquishy · 20/12/2012 16:56

Life is too short to let someone who has nothing better to do then correct your grammar bother you Wink

And in response, I just said "oh thank you, you can't miss it can you?"

valiumredhead · 20/12/2012 16:58

I just googled as they weren't around when ds was little - seriously impressive pram, it's lovely, as I am sure your baby is too Wink

valiumredhead · 20/12/2012 18:30

Obviously I meant capitals Grin

PickledInAPearTree · 20/12/2012 18:33

I saw this thread and my first thought was I wonder how long it will take the grammar police to make a snarky comment.
