she (or he) was genuinely a person...do we care if the problem is real or made up? there was no harm to the thread, except people being a bit 'orrible; but then people are more horrid on actual 'genuine' threads which are left standing...

I believe, they can trace your ip address. So the poster in japan, they may have been able to tell they were not in japan or that the IP address was the same as a previous troll.

I think that's how they know 'i am so beautiful its damaging' OP was the same person they have previously banned.

The trolls tend to post when they think their threads will last without being reported. They know they will eventually.

On bounty it was friday night as bounty didn't do anything about posts that were report from friday 5pm til monday.

Same with woman with 7 kids.

That thread was harmful because somebody else's pictures were being used and commented on.

Imagine if the thread was started by an ex of that woman, an ex who knows she uses Mumsnet. We all turn up and start commenting, if the Troll gets their own way he/she points said person in our direction and that innocent woman gets to read all the nastiness that we inadvertently walked into (although I did not comment negatively )

So, yes, OP - it does matter.
