To ask you when you get paid this month?

I am always paid early in December. It makes January very long, but with the expense of Christmas, it's always welcome. I am usually paid on the last working day of the month. So when will I be paid this month? I'm not prepared to ask anyone in my work because I don't want to flag up the fact that I cannot budget and am skint. (Don't worry, I am not penniless. I have an overdraft that I could go into if desperate - I just really try to avoid that.)

I've been paid too, get paid again on the 4th Jan

As a contractor I would get paid on the Friday after the Tuesday after the end of the month (so 4th Jan it would be this year, some months as late as the 9th day of the following month), that was with all of the agencies I worked though - payroll would be run on the Tuesday after the end of the month, then 3 days for the money to be transferred.

In permanent jobs I've had a range of being paid as per normal schedule, paid up to 2 weeks early, or paid as normal but able to get an advance mid-December.
