to give DC4 (aged 2) TWO bath/showers a day?

He is usually drenched in the AM (even with a quick nappy change before I go to bed) and there is no way I could just wipe him over - he would stink all day so has a quick shower. He definitely needs a bath in the evenings as he poos and is generally quite disgusting so needs a good soak.

Anything less is skanky IMHO.

I did the same with the older DCs and then dropped the morning shower when they were dry at night although DD started showering in the AM as well as the PM when she started secondary school and I imagine the DSs will next year as well

According the SIL (who bathes her DCs perhaps 2-3 times a week - gross) it is ridiculous, too much work, too many wet towels and he must hate it (actually he loves feeling clean). Well how do you clean a nappy wearing toddler without putting them in the shower/bath? Who is BUR?

Bad for their skin. How do you know he loved feeling clean?

At 2 even if not potty trained I would be getting him to try using the toilet before bed, then maybe when you go to be later lift him into toilet to try again, and then put another clean nappy on. So if he is lifted and changed at 11pm and up at 7am then he would have just emptied bladder at 11pm and less likely of waking up soaked every am. He doesn't have to be fully trained but surely that's better for everyone

I would put a few inches of water in the bath in the morning with a squirt of bubble bath and let DS have a splash in it for a couple of minutes to freshen him up. Then do the same in the evening with a deeper bath.

My DCs used to share a bath each evening when they were small and even when not so small. It saved water and was fun. They shower every day now and their skin is lovely.

You can wash your DC however often you like, but I'm a bit concerned about your nappy changing procedures! I have a nearly 2 yo and e is not drenched with wee in the morning, nor does a poo means he needs a bath to get it off him!
