She must get some sort of help!? Such a shit storyline, weren't they too skint for Xmas last year too?

Well, that "Alfie follows Kat and sees who her boyfriend is" scenario didn't happen on Thursday or Friday.

Instead Michael gave Alfie a talking to and said it would be better if Alfie just put up with Kat's behaviour, he wouldn't be able to change her but he sure would miss her if they split up.

I think Lauren is Dereks I also think it is derek who is shagging kat but we all think that , anyway Bianca should be claiming housing benefit at least is the house still Jannines ?

The only slightly realistic thing about Biance currently is that when she has just come out of prison it may take a while to sort out benefits again, but in the past it was just stupid.

I will be so pleased to see the end of the Kat and Alfie storyline, it has dragged on for way too long.

They've not yet done the reveal that Lauren is Derek's, but they've started to sow the (plot) seeds. Max does not know.Assume the Christmas/wedding/dead derek thing is related to this.

Nb Max and Tanya got together when she was his babysitter (for Bradley).

I was just having this discussion the other night with DP, asking why Bianca is so skint when she's a single mother of 3 kids.

Also, Lauren is Dereks??? If that was true then surely when Lauren got together with Joey it should have all come out then?!

How come whenever anybody has a problem they go and sit in the Laundrette?

How come everybody who lives on the Square has a job on the Square? Nobody ever has to travel to work. You just move there and get a job within a couple of days.

Wish Alfie would leave Kat and just go and shag Roxy, give Kat a taste of his own medicen the hoor.

if Lauren is Derek's, then Tanya would be opposed to it and not have to be blackmailed into keeping them secret. I don't believe it's that simple.

Tanya is always buggering off at Xmas. It's boring now.

The soaps are really trying to mirror each other this year. Both doing Xmas weddings, both with a pub football team. At least no murder in corrie.

It hasn't ever been confirmed that lauren is Derek's, it was a rumour on Digital Spy. Also, the KatShag isn't a Moon as there was an episode where she confessed to Michael that she was having an affair behind Alfie's back.

Carol would have the child benefit and tax credits as the childrens carer while BEEE was in prison though i think Derek maybe put himself on tanya when she was younger and Lauren is the result although derek and jack have dark hair and features so who knows , and what does tanya see in max he is just a creep

Benefits are also fast tracked for those being released from prison. They fill the form in 'inside' and the work focussed interview is booked for the day after they're released. It's a probation requirement in alot of cases.

Just Googling to see what I can find. Reading a thread on DS someone says that Lauren can't be Derek's because she has brown eyes... do people really believe the four gene model they're taught in school??? It's just a simplified version so kids get it!

My parents have blue eyes, my brother and I have green. It always bugged me that my teachers were basically making out that my dad isn't my dad! You only have to look at my niece and the women of my dad's family to know there's no way he's not our dad (thankfully I mostly skipped those genes and look more like Mum!)

Hmm... latest official news I can get is Jamie and Jacqueline are waiting to find out! I think it's more likely that Joey will be Max's, that way none of the three parents need to know.

But Joey Being Max's makes more sense. Explains Derek's reaction to Joey/Lauren AND why he hated J so much but dotes on Alice.

It's next Thursday that Alfie finds out who Kat's lover is. Not that anyone actually cares any more. It's been dragged out far too long.

I don't think Lauren is Derek's. Surely Tanya would have freaked out at the thought of her and Joey if that was the case?

Oh and about Bianca being skint all the time. I thought Rickaaayyy got a really well paid job in Dubai? As someone else said it's like he doesn't exist because he doesn't live on the square anymore.

The Kat storyline is way beyond annoying. The only way they could make it interesting now is if it turned out to be Jim Branning

Ricky went to Dubai but predictably lost all his money before he came home so they were still skint. Can Remeber where he is now but he left Bianca for not apparent reason.
