...to get really annoyed with OP's who don't come back to/update their threads?!

gimmecakeandcandy · 12/12/2012 19:29

...just that really. Here we are giving our time and effort and so many op's never bother to update their situation! So annoying. Why should we bother if they can't be bothered?!

OP posts:
bradyismyfavouritewiseman · 12/12/2012 20:18

Oh I see. When I wrestle the laptop off dd I shall give it ago. I didn't know that.

Thanks

VitoCorleone · 12/12/2012 20:19

Ive read a few threads where ive thought "well what bloody happened then?!" it does get on my nerves

Bluefrogs · 12/12/2012 20:31

Op your post is rude and uncalled for.
The poster you are referring to has a five week old baby, you are lucky she is replying on the same day!
When my twins were 5 weeks old I may have posted for advice and then had no opportunity to come back and update-purely because I was run ragged looking after newborns.
Give the woman a break fgs

havingastress · 12/12/2012 20:45

:) It's ok, I didn't think anyone other than the OP was directly having a dig! She'd already posted on my thread saying it was annoying I hadn't updated.

Erm. I last posted at 2pm today! And have continually updated.

I do totally appreciate mn's helping out! It's only polite to reply imo :)

CatPussRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 12/12/2012 20:48

OP Mumsnet isnt here just for your personal entertainment! Get a grip and maybe a life

charlmascaraoxo · 12/12/2012 20:49

gimmecakeandcandy

The woman whose colleague asked to borrow her wedding dress for her daughter...

That was me, on my old account (stopped working and was unable to log in again?)

I did update as far as I know. Sure I said on the original thread that the mother had been pleasant to me since the incident and blocked daughter on Facebook.
And wasn't going to lend the dress.

What more of an update would you like?
What I've had for breakfast each day since?

Loislane78 · 12/12/2012 20:50

What about that scary thread yesterday where the exH's new GF was seemingly trying to steal the DCs. No reply from the OP - might go check that now actually...

Pantofino · 12/12/2012 20:50

I always wonder what happens with the obvious trolls like Zeebrugge and MissDisorganised and the like and wonder if people who supported them keep in touch via FB or PM...

charlmascaraoxo · 12/12/2012 20:52

I'm surprised the joint birthday thread hasn't been mentioned already.

Loislane78 · 12/12/2012 20:52

To be fair I hope she's too busy getting a plan of action together but that was so shocking, would be good to know she got some legal advice.

JustFabulous · 12/12/2012 20:56

I still remember the woman who discovered she was expecting and didn't know how it had happened (hence her user name of ShockAndAwe). She was going to get a private scan that day to see how far along she was. Everyone wished her luck. Then nothing.

aliasjoey · 12/12/2012 20:58

what happened to the poster who's boyfriends ex was claiming she had cancer? but wasn't going to have chemo because she didn't want to lose her hair..?

I don't know what happened about the pirate bouncy castle party either.

probably the poster does come back, but if it's just a brief update we miss it?

bradyismyfavouritewiseman · 12/12/2012 21:01

Erm. I last posted at 2pm today! And have continually updated.

In that case the OP IBU. I didn't read your thread and I didn't realise the OP had only waited a matter of hours.

thenightsky · 12/12/2012 21:02

couple of threads still stick with me and I wonder how they ended... first one someone already mentioned about the poster who found her DP was claiming large amounts of DLA with no visible evidence.

The other was the poor woman whose DH was wanting to go to India to buy a motorbike and ride it home via Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan and other war zones. All whilst leaving her home alone with a toddler and a 3 month old.

Celticlassie · 12/12/2012 21:02

That joint birthday party malarkey kept me up really late one night reading all the updates and then nothing. Xmas Angry

InNeedOfBrandyButter · 12/12/2012 21:04

YANBU it is annoying when you've tried to help someone, got involved and then never see that poster around/get an update again.

gallicgirl · 12/12/2012 21:05

Was the Zeebruge lady a troll?
I was made up for her happy ending but I often wondered if the aunt and uncle were charged with anything.

AlienRefucksLooksLikeSnow · 12/12/2012 21:08

Or when they go poof! and you're left thinking WTF was that then? troll? someone in danger? I have actually had trouble sleeping because of one woman fleeing Iran I think it was, she was going to contact her sister when she got to the UK, her husband was abusive and she had her baby with her. Then it just went!

TwoSillyHatsWithBellsOn · 12/12/2012 21:09

I think quite often there is an update, but it comes on another thread and a lot of people miss it.

I wonder about are the poster whose parent(mother/father?)'s will appeared to have been tampered with, there were quite a lot of dodgy things about it. I can't remember the poster's name so there might well have been an update I know nothing about.

bradyismyfavouritewiseman · 12/12/2012 21:12

What was the happy ending, i missed that.

AlmostAChristmasHipster · 12/12/2012 21:13

Alien, I'm sure that lady updated on a new thread saying that she was safe and with her sister but I haven't seen anything since.

bradyismyfavouritewiseman · 12/12/2012 21:14

I have actually had trouble sleeping because of one woman fleeing Iran I think it was, she was going to contact her sister when she got to the UK, her husband was abusive and she had her baby with her. Then it just went!

She requested it to be removed, she posted the next day to say she had arrived here, but then I think that one disappeared. Not sure why.

charlmascaraoxo · 12/12/2012 21:15

The was a drunk night out thread recently, OP never updated how Friend A/B/C thought other friend had died.

That thread did give me a good giggle.

Loislane78 · 12/12/2012 21:19

Yes charl! That was brilliant, 'my friend must be dead because I couldn't see her walking 50 metres ahead' (or something). Must have been an epic night, like I haven't had for several years :)
