To not have a clue what to get my 4 year old girl for christmas?

Fairly trivial problem, I know. I trogged round ToysRus for an hour and still none the wiser. Is it me or are girl toys a bit crap? All pink, sparkly and mostly all trying to instill values in my little girl I would rather avoid. Oh alright she does have some barbies and stuff but I wanted to get her something with a little more substance.

Any ideas? Anyone???

Dd is getting a bike, books, dvds (milkshake), cd (barney), jigsaw puzzles, colouring pad, character pyjamas, some hello kitty tat and clothes. I know her grandparents are also getting her leapppad 2, scooter, roller skates with helmet, hungry hippos, snakes and ladders.,

MamaChocoholic where did you get the model? We are looking for one for DD1.

My 4 yo loves her playmobil camper van, her innotab and her dolls house, but the dolls house was originally for her big sister who never played with it. Dd2 has a very vivid imagination and loves making up stories, dd1 is more literal and loves constructing/art. at 4 yo she loved her CD player for story tapes, lego and craft kits.

Thanks! It looks great! Its her birthday in Feb and I never know what to get because its so close to xmas! Would never have thought of that!

I have two DDs just 5 and 2.5.

They are getting lego and a bob n' blossom tutu each.

They also love Playmobil but I hate all the teeny tiny bits...

DD1 also loves pens/paints/paper and whatnot. Simple stuff but works every times. Especially glittery/fluorescent pens...
