to think my friend is lying about being drugged?

So last Saturday night we had a girls night out (group of 7).

Walking to a different bar, some walking further ahead etc. I was at the back (damn ridiculous high heels!) when we reached one of my friends(A) in floods of tears. Apparently one of our friends (B) had told A that friend (C) was dead.

(Friend C was out with us at the time but was much further ahead of us). Friend A thought she'd been in some sort of accident and was inconsolable - I think obviously this was heightened with how much she had to drink.

After an argument between A and B when the truth was friend C was fine. Que friend B storming off. I called her and she said she was in a taxi on the way home.

All is forgiven now. But friend B keeps saying that she only said what she did because someone drugged her in the bar we had just left.

aibu to think she is just lying about being drugged because she's quite embarrassed about what she said?

Friend B must have been mightily pissed off that friend C was in fact still alive, storming off into into the night like that at the mere sight of her.

HairyGrotter · 07/12/2012 22:40

The 'FriendC' Name Change is a touch of genius to an otherwise MENTALIST thread...

usualsocksprezzie · 07/12/2012 22:42

Was friend C aware of being dead at this point?

musttidyupBeforeSantaComes · 07/12/2012 22:42

Come on OP it must sound vaguely bonkers to you?

Floggingmolly · 07/12/2012 22:42

Friend A told friend C that she wasn't dead Shock

Has anyone nominated this for Mumsnet Classics?

PrincessMononoke · 07/12/2012 22:47

Grin this is bonkers, you will all laugh about it in a few years time, what did c say when a hugged her and informed her that she is alive ?

LondonButterfly · 07/12/2012 22:47

Sorry I meant -

Friend C told Friend A that she wasn't dead and then hugged her.

Friend A thought she was a ghost and cried and hyperventilated more.

"Friend A hugged Friend C and told her that she wasn't dead."

C must have been so pleased with the news! Grin

usualsocksprezzie · 07/12/2012 22:50

C must have been over the moon she wasn't actually dead Grin

OliviaPeaceOnMumsnet · 07/12/2012 22:51

@GoldQuintessenceAndMyhrr

Olivia has had 17 Bacardi Breezers, leave her be.... She is dead to this world

{eyebrows}

AHEM. Again.

usualsocksprezzie · 07/12/2012 22:52

Are you laughing, just a little bit Olivia?

differentnameforthis · 07/12/2012 22:54

Already stated that friend C was really far infront, you couldn't even see her

So she was that far in front that no one could see her, yet B knew she was dead & A believed that B knew she was dead even though none of you could actually physically see her.

What would make A believe B knew she was dead? Or something. I wrote this & I am confusing myself.

I think, what I mean is, if you couldn't SEE C, how did A think B knew she was dead?

differentnameforthis · 07/12/2012 22:56

Well rightly or wrongly I find it rather amusing that one could be so drunk as to genuinely believe that your drinking companion had somehow managed to die at rather short notice on route to your next pub

I find it amusing that no one could actually SEE C, but they believed B when she said C was dead. Yet, B couldn't even see C. Do you see?

differentnameforthis · 07/12/2012 23:01

So, HOW would B know that C got killed, if B and A were together, and C far ahead? And how could A possibly believe B, considering they were together, and not with C?

THAT is what I am trying to say!

ifancyashandy · 07/12/2012 23:05

Laughing like bloody Mutley here!

AnyFuckerForAMincePie · 07/12/2012 23:05

I bet Olivia is wringing her knickers out too

PrincessMononoke · 07/12/2012 23:06

Ah I see, so c hugged a and said I am not dead, then a thought c was a ghost ?
Then you all just carried on drinking ?
Grin this thread has made my night

LondonButterfly · 07/12/2012 23:07

Friend B was with Friend C and then ran back and told Friend A that Friend C was dead.

Friend A could not see Friend B so she believed her.

Catsdontcare · 07/12/2012 23:08

Fabulous, but HOW did c die?

Floggingmolly · 07/12/2012 23:09

Come on London, even you're getting confused now. Are you making it up embellishing it ever so slightly?

Caerlaverock · 07/12/2012 23:09

I would pay good money to see the CCTV footage of this

musttidyupBeforeSantaComes · 07/12/2012 23:09

Groundhog Day.

CrushedWithGOLD · 07/12/2012 23:10

So friend A was hideing from friend B whilst informing her friend C was dead?
